Talk me out of this. Saban probably wants to make a statement after all offseason chatter. I can see him not calling the dogs off until it’s way out of hand. I can’t imagine they’ll score much on our D. Seems like easy money.

If the qbs struggle and we go heavy on ball control and the running game, we won't cover that if MTSU puts up ten points.

I don't know if that talked you out of it or not. I fully expect us to win by 50.

Definitely shouldn't bet on this game.

For one thing MTSU is usually a somewhat decent non-P5 school. They should at least put up somewhat of a fight.

But mostly, we are starting a QB who is known to have deficiencies in the passing game, and we're going to be experimenting a lot on offense and rotating more than 1 QB.

Too much is unknown about this team and the gameplan to bet on this game imo

I think he'll go vanilla and prevent D ASAP not to give anything away, which includes finality on who may or may not be the QB.

They could cover 45+, but 2/3rd team D gets some reps and O will be shut down. Saban in big spread games vs small teams is not always a great bet.

I got it 31-0. I think we see a ground control offense and smothering defense plus the time changes they made to game.

I’m fading all the big lines week 1, the changes to the clock will make it hard for a lot of teams to hit the number unless they pitch a shutout or near one

I wouldn't touch that. Especially with the unknowns with the teams and clock rules. Saban may decide to suffocate the clock rather than score like in years past.

I'd recommend holding off on betting altogether until the scores and the associated lines normalize to the new clock rules. I have a feeling that scores and spreads may be down a bit from previous years. Ball control comes way more into play now and where teams may have padded some scores, may be able to simply run out the clock rather than post more points.
