LSU being a total opportunist and knowing FSU needs money, and it might bite them in the arse.
FSU and LSU schedule 2 game series
Let's think back to February 2020 when this game was announced.
LSU had just gone undefeated and won a national championship. FSU had just fired Willie Taggart after 2 losing season in a row. FSU hadn't had a losing season since 1976.
But LSU was still scared to play in Tallahassee, and why wouldn't they be? Last (and only) time they travelled to Tallahassee they took home a 42-3 arse whipping. They have only played there once as opposed to 7 times in Baton Rouge. Seven times to one over a 13 year period. That's right, LSU played FSU 7 times between 1979 and 1991 and only gave FSU one home game in return. And FSU had to play LSU 6 times before getting 1 home game.
See it for yourself.
LSU vs Florida State (Record 2-8)
(Dec. 30, 1968) Win 31-27 Atlanta - Peach Bowl
(Oct. 27, 1979) Loss 19-24 Baton Rouge
(Sep. 6, 1980) Loss 0-16 Baton Rouge
(Oct. 24, 1981) Loss 14-38 Baton Rouge
(Nov. 20, 1982) Win 55-21 Baton Rouge
(Sep. 10, 1983) Loss 35-40 Baton Rouge
(Sep. 16, 1989) Loss 21-31 Baton Rouge
(Oct. 27, 1990) Loss 3-42 Tallahassee
(Oct. 26, 1991) Loss 16-27 Baton Rouge
(Sep. 4, 2022) Loss 23-24 New Orleans
Not including the neutral site in New Orleans last year and the Peach Bowl in 1968, FSU and LSU have played a total of 8 games over a 13 year span. 7 in Red Stick. 1 in Tallahassee.
Now this was mostly in the 80's and not the 90's when LSU was down.
So in the off-season after the 2019 national championship, LSU sees a down FSU and concocts a plan to right the series and get a couple of cheap wins over FSU.
The first year didn't go as planned, and if LSU goes 0-2 in this little series I am going to laugh my motherfrickng arse off.
That said I hope LSU beats their arse 50-0.
But there is no getting away from you guys being a total bunch of chickenshits in the way you have dealt with FSU. If FSU had any pride at all they would tell you to go pound sand, but they are always broke and need money.

LSU just wanted one Florida school worth a frick on the schedule. It’s too bad they had to go OOC to get it.

Wow. A Florida Gator knighting for Florida State to troll LSU.

So you waited until they had 2 losing seasons in a row?

Not knighting, I think it is genius. Glad to see someone taking advantage of them and wish more SEC teams would do the same.

The last time Florida played a nonconference road game outside of Florida was on September 21, 1991, when they lost to Syracuse 38-21. That was 11,667 days ago, according to Brett McMurphy.

They obviously saw a program that was passing UF.

FEBRUARY 11, 2020
“We’ve been working on this for a few years,” Sugar Bowl CEO Jeff Hundley said of the LSU-Florida State contest in New Orleans. “The stakes are high, but with LSU and FSU we have two nationally recognized programs within driving distance of New Orleans. We’re expecting a big and enthusiastic crowd here for Labor Day Weekend in 2022. It should be fun.”

Absolutely I am trolling you, but I also see the beauty of it. The two are not mutually exclusive.

Yeah been working on it since 1991 I guess?

What does the Sugar Bowl CEO working on something have to do with anything? They are in constant negotiations with many teams that never materialize.
