Among all the celebrity HC's out there, it seems the value of really good coordinators gets lost in history.

Sometimes, a HC gets way too much credit for what their coordinators made of them. Without Kliff Kingsbury, Kevin Sumlin is just a loud drunk in the hotel bar.

Then again, many coordinators never figure out the HC job once they get their break.

That being said, who was the most impactful, best, favorite, "whatever" coordinator on your sideline?

For A&M, I would have to say:

OC: The above-mentioned Kliff Kingsbury. Perfect match to get the most out of (and burn out) a player like Manziel.

DC: A tie between R.C. Slocum and Bob Davie (late 80s to early 90s). Slocum built the monster, and Davie refined it under him. This was my time on campus, and our anemic defenses ever since are...disappointing.

Kingsbury has proven to be a pretty bad coach. He rode Manziel's coattails into a college job, did nothing of note, then got an NFL job where he flamed out.

OC: 2010 Gus (would select 2013 Gus if he wasn’t the head coach…)

DC: 2019 Steele or 07 Muschamp

The play calling was somewhat irrelevant, given Manziel's improv skills and style.

That being said, he put the right pieces and scheme in place, AND he ran an uptempo fast-break style that kept the defense constantly on their heels.

He gave JFF all the rope he needed, including to hang himself. May not be a great coach, but for that specific situation, he was an almost perfect fit.

Then he just kept failing upward.

DC was Monte Kiffin

OC, the one that stands out most to me was Dan Enos.

For the most part correct, but 2020 and 2021 had the opposite of anemic defenses.

I would only adjust the DC side to argue Muschamp’s 02-04 stint or Pelini 05-07
