Announcing Friday, down to OU, A&M, and Texas. Sounds like Texas has fallen back.

A@M still in it .. Texas lead last week and now out ? Someone’s info not right somewhere lol. Would be nice to get but not getting hopes up . His mom loves OU though !

Doubt anyone has a definite sense of where he is leaning but on the OU side they are hearing it it’s Oklahoma or A&M.

How does Texas just get out after leading all this time? It sure as shite isn't NIL related against OU.

Supposedly McKinley values himself more than the Texas and LSU staffs are willing to pay. He’s looked not great so far this year. Some people think OU or A&M could come swoop in and get a commitment from him.
He’s committing Friday, but if he blows up this year I could this coming down to the wire on ESD if Texas, LSU, A&M, and OU decide to start really bidding.

From everything I have read, the family has been fairly quiet and tight-lipped about his decision making process. Maybe the various mods just got it all wrong using outdated information?

Yes it’s just coping. It’s impossible that he’s slightly overrated right now and staffs would wait to evaluate before shipping in major NIL money.

Not impossible, but the this "new news" is both predictable and suspect. This spin only comes out when a school is suddenly not in the running.

Eh I think you’re reading it the wrong way. I don’t think anyone is out of the running yet. I think some are just taking their time to evaluate. This one will likely go to signing day.

Probably, but I have watched recruiting long enough to see the same old pattern.
No one anywhere in the Texas camp was ever questioning this kids athleticism, potential, or NIL value until he suddenly he might not be interested.
Creating speculative stories about NIL bids is just an coping mechanism. A&M fans said the same thing about Harold Perkins, but it was fairly obvious he was LSU bound for most all of his recruitment.

I read up a bit and I don’t think this is an A&M vs OU battle. Everything points to horn still leading, lsu, then OU, A&M, and Ohio State. That’s how our side sees it. But I’m not hating the news if we somehow came from behind this week.

Pretty much every "recruiting analyst" has admitted that McKinley is raw but hit potential is through the rough. He probably is a little overrated at this stage, but I've always said it's weird how recruiting services give some guys the benefit of the doubt when it comes to potential and some not.

I’m going to call cap on this being between OU and A&M after research unless we get a link from an OU insider. I still read horns lead. I hope we do get him bc we could use another DT.
