Otherwise, I'd be trying to get him hooked up with one of my daughters when they turn 18. He's a lovely young man.
Drinks' oldest daughter is 13 ...
Let that sink in.

Drink is in love with Cook.
And Schrader.
He loves him some hard-working, middle-of-the-pack Missouri kids.

That said, if he keeps drive alive with his legs, and we get some RB production, this may work with Cook.
And Horn goes baseball only or transfers.

Horn probably will transfer out, but we have to take the good with the bad. Drink is a good recruiter. And maybe the offense can be tailored around the short to medium pass game. Burden isn't a pass route technician, we dont have a dominant outside WR, so maybe the long throws aren't important for this offense.

Horn is going to transfer out or go in the top 5 rounds of the MLB draft next year (FB sitting around 96-97).
Drinkwitz is going to be fired after another 6-6 season (6-7 with a bowl loss) ...
Brady Cook is going to marry Drinkwitz's daughter in 2033 after his first wife divorces him due to his inability to "go deep" ...

I’ve been a Drink defender due to his recruiting, but what does that matter if he falls in love with less talented players and won’t give the recruits he brings in a fair shake? With how much Drink seems committed to Cook, it’ll be tough to unseat him not only this season but also next.
Cook’s arm looked the same, he forced a bad pass into double coverage that could’ve easily been an interception. It was a worse throw and decision than Horn’s pick, which basically led to Horn not being able to throw the ball again. It’s frustrating because Drink has improved talent basically across the board, and with improved QB play we could take the next step and make some noise, but they seem to want to continue the conservative screens and slants bs that won’t work against good SEC defenses. Hope I’m wrong

But...the offense did work against SEC teams last year. Should have beat Auburn, a bad pick 6 away from beating Florida a obscure punt rule from beating UK (which btw is no longer a rule), and came within 2 yards of beating the National Champs (Shrader got caught from behind.) Kudos to UGAs safety for not giving up on that play BTW.
Cook was only responsible for the bad pick 6 at Florida. The rest were not in his control. Point is,the offense can work in the SEC, especially if the OL and running game is better.

No matter the opponent, we play "not to lose". I neither understand nor like it.

No shite if you are afraid to fo for 4th and 1 from midfield vs an FCS team , you simply lack the balls. Hell my son was sitting by me in the 3rd laughing as South Dakota was going for 4th down at midfield and Mizzou refused to. On top of that just sitting on a lead the whole 2nd half instead of punching them in the fricking mouth.

Not playing Horn is an opportunity cost, though, because he will improve with experience and can obviously do things Cook can't. This is Cook's ceiling. You won't get more.
As Mizzou fans, we ignore the 5-6 interceptions Cook could have had last year but for some luck.
What if Pinkel had gotten a mancrush on Chase Patton and Chase Daniel got some series here and there and wasn't allowed to throw much?

I understand the sentiment, and as I've commented before, the shite Drink has said would not be said by any other SEC coach.
Horn should start the next game to get a true opportunity. But so should Robert's at RB IMHO.
But, in the event that nothing changes, all is not lost. The team was way better than the record last year. And with Cook a little better, defense playing well, improved OL and RB play, this will be a good team this year.

Plus, Horn is getting some reps is good news and would be able to step in if needed in the future.

Lovett is a huge loss to this team when he transferred to UGA and if he had stayed, he would've been right up there as a top wide receiver in the league and be a huge threat to any team and this team would be a lot better on offense.

Then that is up to Drinkwitz to decide if Horn is worthy or not to be the starter over Cook or get more playing time.

Anyone can throw that line out there when their daughter is 13. I didn't put any stock into it.
Although, as a father of 4 daughters, with the gene pool of males looking so thin nowadays, I'm almost ready to go back to arranged marriages.
