Planning a trip out there, got a place to stay in Sardis but trying to find places to go and eat/drink at. Any suggestions are appreciated

Eat/ Drink in the "Square" the night before. The Grove is different, but the people are pretty cool and inviting, for the most part. The fans in the stands are a bunch of petulant brats and some of the most annoying I've been around.

McEwen's is great to eat at

The City Grocery, Snackbar, Boure restaurant owner group does well…Ajax diner makes a solid lunch. Kabuki sushi…Heartbreak coffee.

The Kennel Club steakhouse in Sardis is pretty good…also try the brown butter cake and ice cream for dessert.

Sitting and realizing Ole Miss has not won an SEC football title since 1963 and made zero SEC Championship game appearances is my favorite thing to do there.

Scenery has always been good in the Grove….

I had the same experience. Some drunk college age girl sat behind me in her Eli Manning jersey in 2014 and called everyone around her swamp trash the entire game. Needless to say, we all got the last laugh that night.

Play golf
Proud Larry's (good burgers)
Phillips Grocery (best burgers IMO)
City Grocery (downstairs for food, upstairs for drinks)
Ajax (southern comfort food, lemon margarita)
Bouree is overpriced and overrated, but the upstairs is solid for a drink
The Coop bar and restaurant (4th floor of The Graduate Hotel)
Oxford Grillehouse is solid. Mannings eat there frequently
McEwans is solid
Lost Pizza Co
St. Leo
None of the above are a bad choice. Enjoy your time in little ole Oxford. We miss it.

Is Taylor’s Grocery catfish as good as they say it is?

Where ever you go, you will need reservations. Most of the good places filled up with reservations a while back so you need to try getting one now to see if they are still taking them. Ajax and Proud Larry's don't take reservations so you might be able to get into them but will probably have a wait. The Snack Bar is an excellent choice and Volta is good.

Laugh at the pretentious Ole Miss fans who think they’re the Harvard of the south.
They think their school and town are God’s gift to earth. They act entitled like Bama fans but lack the history of winning. They think Oxford is Athens. They think they’re elite simply because they play in the same conference as elite programs such as LSU.

It’s fine. Not worth the several hours long wait for a football weekend to get it though
I only go during the summer or holidays when the crowd is much lighter .
But that’s my opinion.

Gameday weekends are such a pain in the arse overall here and by far the worst times to live here . Hard to maneuver and parking is a chore If you can find it to begin with
I basically become a hermit except to walk to the game .
And it’s why I like to rent my house out so I don’t have to deal with it and can make some money on the side

Ah yes who wouldn’t want to stand shoulder to shoulder in a completely max capacity bar after paying $60+ up to get in for a $5 beer and where you can barely hear yourself think
HARD pass for that
