With a 12 team playoff field, ND doesn't need a conference

The money comes from advertising. Advertising needs eyeballs. Southern football attracts the most eyeballs.

Look out 25-50 years. Not a long time really. Ask any old person

The current states with Sec footprint will grow in eyeballs exponentially over this time. Unless the world ends, Bama will still be playing LSU.

Notre Dame is not and never will be a big draw in the Protestant South.

I can’t see ND ever wanting to join the SEC. The culture clash is too much.

When each Sec school one day is making 100 million a year, don’t laugh, ND can feel all superior making their 50 million from NBC

I say
ND.

I'm surprised that SEC and BIG 10 teams just stop scheduling ND to force them to join a conference.

Or the conferences come up with their own rules and don't let independents in their playoffs

It would be funny if these conferences just “blackballed” them and refused to schedule them. Leave them to play the Service Academies, MAC schools, and the like.

The SEC isnt even on Notre Dame's radar except for scheduling ooc maybe. Their priorities don’t intersect with the SEC at all.

They already have their own tv deal. They don't have to split money with anybody. Why in the world would ND want to join any conference? They are a stand-alone brand.

*they joined the ACC in all sports but football and hockey*
