Since it is a slow time of year... how about a discussion we can sink our teeth into?
Who do you think our LB two deep will be?

Keys | Riley
Steiner | Woodyard

Does Riley have the most potential?
He looks long and athletic.
Maybe this is his time to shine?
Or is Woodyard the one to watch?
Steiner just looked sort of stiff last year, but with new coaches maybe his game will appear more fluid. He’s unafraid so that is a start.

Im thinking Keys and Riley. Both seem like the kind of players who can make things happen on the field.

If Steiner gets the starting nod, were in trouble.

Steiner looked like he was having to think a ton. He showed some flashes of really good ability. Hopefully a new scheme and coaches can get some better play out of him. The ability is there, just needs to put it together upstairs and fundamentally. I also think he played a little heavier than he probably should be, at least at this stage in his career.

I've heard that he has came a long way, but I still dont expect him to start.

This probably speaks more to my points than anything. He just never looked comfortable last season in our scheme.

Yep. Every once in a while he had some plays where he looked very natural and just reacted, and looked like what we wanted. There was one great play I remember him just blowing up the line and should have made a big time play behind the LOS, but he failed to wrap up. He definitely still has a long way to go, but hopefully he is one of those that a fresh start really helps things click.

That's my opinion as well on the top 4. I'd add Steiner as a rotational player as well.
I think we will see a lot of mix and match over the season as far as starter and backup depending on who we are playing. example Riley and Woodyard would be a slow duo on the field at the same time.

Wrong! Steiner might be the fastest backer we have. He hit the gaps last year just couldn't tackle much like Owen last year. Got to the spot just couldn't get the guys on the ground.

Steiner was considered a freak in HS
Ability hasn’t clicked.

I think he meant he played slow, which quite often he did. When he did have moments he just reacted and played free, he showed his speed and athletic ability. That just didn't happen nearly enough. I'll also contend 245 is too big for him with his composition last year.
