If the SEC cared about sports other than football then they would take Stanford. You guys had a good but not great run in the old SWC and that was why you were picked.

Is Texas irrelevant? Texas is one of the few schools that can pick which conference they want to join. Great academics and athletics.

OP says this in the brag thread he started about their high ranking in a competition that heavily favors schools with a high volume of competent non-football programs.
The directors cup is not a reflection of overall excellence. It is a nod to schools that field the most varsity sports. Nothing more.

Only one person in this thread said that football is the only sport that matters (hint: it was you). I merely pointed out the inconsistency in your saying that in the brag thread YOU started that rewards even middling success in a large volume of insignificant sports.

I applaud success in all athletics but I was pointing out to Arkansas fans that it was their solid football program that put them in one of the top two leagues.
