News of Alabama's demise is slightly exaggerated

It has become fashionable for talking heads etc to ask something along the lines of: Is Alabama on the decline?
In the last four completed recruiting cycles, according to 247, Alabama had 46 FIVE STAR commitments. For comparison, UGA had 30 and Ohio St 24. Texas A&M had 25, which includes that famous "paid-for" 2022 class that had 14.
They were terrible last year, losing two whole games last year on the road on the last play against two double digit win SEC rivals. I hope they do OK this year, and their mediocre coaching staff doesn't screw it up.

Why is Alabama so desperate to find starters from the transfer portal when they’ve been recruiting so well?

Until the day comes that Saban is no longer coaching from the sidelines, Bama will not be in “decline.” Even by their standards, 10-12 wins in the SEC is not a decline.

What do you call failing to even win your division with a returning Heisman winner and 3 first round picks, two of which were in the first 3 picks?
If “decline” isn’t the proper word, maybe “embarrassing” is a better fit.

Dunno. Last year, we got half of our starting lineup from the portal and won the West, so it's not an automatic red mark. Also, maybe there are a couple of position groups that they feel somewhat vulnerable and want to bolster those positions?

he can recruit but kirby and lane were the talent developers

Don't you imagine that was a Tommy Rees request? I suspect Coach Rees knows a little more about the guy than you do, and I'm guessing he thinks a lot more of him, too. Time will tell.

Only two of the top three picks this year? Oh, how the mighty have fallen!!!

Yeah, I hope Alabama loses every game this year and then loses an extra couple for good measure.

It was embarrassing but....There have been several recruiting busts on both sides of the LOS and in 2021 and 2022 they came to light on the field. They fixed the OL, quickly and are in the process of doing the same at DL and ILB

During that time they have 1 NC*
BTW I count 23 5 stars for Bama, 18 for UGA, didn’t check the rest (used 24/7 composite)
35 Draft picks for Bama last 4 drafts, 41 draft picks for UGA

For some reason you continually try to insert this same asinine "gotcha" statement into every thread on this board, but you seem to be too stupid to realize how much praise you're actually giving the program by pointing that out.
You also seem pretty proud of the LSU baseball team.
How did they perform in the conference this season, relative to their talent level?

LSU is on the "incline" then. That "magical" 8-4 season will long be spoken of on the Kelly Bayou.
Sheesh. You guys make foot-in-mouth Drink look good !

Hoover high school would have gone undefeated with uga schedule. TCU………really? Barn could have beaten them. Y’all should kiss CFP committees arse for that gimme!

Then why did UGA blow out both the teams that beat Bama?
Also, why does one assume that the Bama OL is fixed? Sure a new top class has entered the building, but why will the hit and not be busts necessarily?

They were a few points from having 4 losses.
