Alabama AD chair of basketball committee and AU ends up with hands down the most overrated placement as a 9 seed in Birmingham.
AU AD chairs the baseball committee and gives AU the #13 seed and Bama the #16 seed despite Bama having a better record, materially better RPI,, won 75% of the games against AU head to head, and already more postseason success than AU.
15 out of the top 16 RPIs are hosting. Guess who the one isn’t??? AU at 19 RPI…just too obvious John Cohen.
Actions like these are why no one respects AU, not even a little bit. They’re a little kid who wants to play in the big leagues, but consistently show they are too petty and too weak to be one of the big boys. They deserve all the losing that is coming in all the sports. This stuff always causes a price to be paid.
Edit: lololol…watching John Cohen squirm on ESPN 2 answering questions about how AU got the host, with what looks a lot like an AU tie on. He didn’t have a lot of integrity prior to this (see his family), but he keeps digging the hole deeper.

It was the same thing in softball but in reverse (AU softball winning the regular season series and finishing higher in the league, yet Alabama was gifted the easiest regional so they could survive with the "Queen of Hype" injured).
Looking at baseball common opponents, AU won the series vs LSU. Alabama got swept. AU played a better non-con schedule with Indiana and Southern Cal.
Bottom line.... the same logic was applied to AU baseball as it was to Alabama softball, and many have been questioning how much Murphy paid the softball committee so it's essentially the same complaint coming from you now.

you are lucky you aren't banned from postseason this year. You had a coach bet against his own team and seemingly no punishment. That is so much worse than paying a player some money.

He looked like a politician trying to spin and hide in his explanations around AU vs Campbell. Dude is shady, and it will come back around…it always does.
Edit: I’m not saying AU shouldn’t have necessarily hosted…that’s questionable at best. But ranking them higher then Bama was disingenuous and lack of integrity type stuff. Especially after what Byrne gave AU in Basketball. Red headed step child pettiness that AU is always known for.

Except Alabama had a lot more high quality wins in softball than Auburn, Georgia and LSU. Not just the schedule itself being better. And Alabama has more Q1/2 wins than Auburn in baseball. But there are similarities.
But whatever, it is what it is. Our regional isn't as difficult as other higher ranked hosts. The potential Super matchup is obviously very difficult, but so would be Florida or Arkansas.

You saw what happened when we hired an AU baseball coach, right? I hated that from the beginning…AU always willing to cheat and be petty to “catch up in life” with the big boys. It’s a pretty toxic mindset that just keeps feeding on itself down on the plains.
