I favor a 10-game SEC schedule. 5 permanent opponents and rotate the other 5 each year.

Played a 10-game schedule in 2020 and should do it every year. No one cares about the FCS/Mid-major scrimmage games anyway. This also provides for five SEC home games each year plus two non-con games to protect any out of conference rivalries.

With the playoff expanding to 12 teams, all deserving SEC teams will have no problem making it in even with multiple losses.

This is about entertainment value and fan interest/experience. But it makes too much sense to happen, so we'll be stuck with half-full stadiums for the directional state school scrimmages and three or four snoozefests.

Biggest issue with this is teams have a max 7 home games and 6 if you play a home-home with a P5 team or have a neutral site game. Way too much money lost for this to be considered.

This is all about money.

With that said I agree totally with your post. Play 10 conference games, Bama proved it can be done, one patsy and one P5 OOC if you want.
I hate where college football has ben going ever since the O'Bannon ruling. Hell, I'm not even worried about making the playoffs now. They are gonna bring this RPI bullshite into the equation like basketball now and a stronger schedule can do nothing but help.

I like the occassional FCS home game at noon, good to take little kids to and get them started on the traditions, less drunks, cheap tickets, and you are almost guaranteed to win.

Secondly, it's a great way to get your depth some reps, get some guys in the game that work just as hard as everyone else throughout the year but never sniff the field.

Thirdly, as a fan of college athletics as a whole, those games fund the entire athletic departments of those little schools. Without those games, those schools don't have athletics.

Fourthly, nobody gives a frick what you think.

You can still have two non-con games to play whoever. A traditional non-con rival or a cup cake.

Backups can hopefully play against your cup cake.

Don't care about supporting the athletic departments of the Mid-majors. That's their concern.

My point is simple, a 10-game SEC schedule would have more value from a fan experience. Thus enhancing the brand both from a conference and individual team perspective.

We already have Texas fans telling us how to set the schedule.

Not telling anyone how to set the schedule, just my two cents. As SEC members when this takes effect in 2024, I do believe all conference schools should have a say.

If a team needs to win those games to be bowl eligible they have no business in a bowl game. Fans don't care about minor bowls. In fact, most players don't seem to care either, given the number of opt-outs.

This sounds like UGA vs Texas in a worthless Sugar Bowl, aka Texas’ biggest win since 2005

BigBro got busted for lying and ran off like a little bitch when faced with the truth, so now he’s acting like the Daniel of Texas fans and blowing any and all Gumps with every chance he gets.

Verifiable proof:
