How does the Big 12 play their conference tournament in a state of the art enclosed MLB park in Arglington? We started the season there. I don't remember seeing any RV parking?!?!?

So glad the SEC offices have it figured out.

This would suck....

Its a soul less field with astroturf that would be 25% full as attendance would plummet due to driving distances for most schools. And make fun of the RV crowd all you want (hell I do it too), they are the heart and soul of our fanbases.

Now add up how much The Rangers are going to bid on the SEC tourney and compare it to Hoover's bid. Assuming they bid at all as they currently host the Big 12 tourney.

The better question is WHY do they do this?

Arkansas doesn't care about conference tournaments so why do you care either way?

B12 tournament was so much better in OKC. Conf tourneys in MLB parks suck.

One is centrally located to the SEC and supports a variety of crowds.

The other would look like a Marlins Tuesday night game in Mid-Aug with a 40 person wave to circle the entire stadium.

I'm all for moving it, but an MLB ballpark on the periphery of the future conference footprint isn't the best idea, IMHO.

It would sit 50% empty for every session and 75% empty for the weekday games. Some atmosphere.

Hoover ALL day. No interest in a MLB park.

All the kids playing out on the hills. Just a better setting for a college tournament.

Also better to keep it in the middle of the conference location wise.

And lastly, Arlington sux!

It is dumb the Big 12 did not keep it at Bricktown.

It’s the first year of Globe Life and it sucks.

Every year prior was in OKC and it was awesome.

The center of gravity of the conference moved a little west with the new adds, so move the conf tourney tom Jackson Mississippi!

It will always be Hoover because everyone goes to the SEC tournament then goes to Destin for the conference meetings. As long as SEC office is in Birmingham it will be in Hoover.

"If you build it, they will come."

That may be true in MLB, but that ain't happening with SEC or college baseball. The only sport that has its World Series after school lets out and students go home.

I said the same thing when we were at Globe Life and they were advertising the Big 12 tournament being played there. What an amazing building, and the SEC should be jealous.

We went to the first two Saturday games at globe life. There was almost a sliver of energy for the TCU game. Absolutely dead when the Fort Worth crowd went home. But hey, for $25 dollars you can get your beer in a big 12 edition plastic bat so there’s that.

Also, I don’t know what their criteria for opening the roof are, but the outside temp for the last few games I have attended there were 74, 77, and 79 and the roof was closed for all three. Not sure what the point of having that damn thing is if you’re not going to open it for perfect baseball weather.
