It must suck to be the "best" team and not win a natty

The BEST team, is the team who goes home with the Natty. That was SC LAST year. THIS year it is LSU.

And didn’t even get a Natty to show for it. That’s gotta suck, but congrats LSU.

The SEC rightfully winning championships in everything. Sucks we couldn’t cap off a stellar season with another Natty but thems the breaks.

Kudos on another great season SC. I was shocked that Iowa beat you, but thankful in a way because we would have had to play out of our minds to beat you (which we did end up doing against Iowa, not withstanding).

I was glad the ladies didn't have to play South Carolina, but then again, I didn't think they would beat Iowa either.

If you can't get past a team that LSU beat by 17, then you can't claim you are the best.

At least the SC fans aren't acting like Gumps and demanding "do-overs"

We don't all think that way.

I mean I think we were the best team.

I dont think we were the best team when it mattered. LSU was followed by Iowa.

Our season body of work speaks for itself, but like Ole Miss in baseball you have to do it at the right time.

I think you can when you beat the caliber of teams we beat, had the margin of victory we did, etc.

we lost one game all season, it just happened to be when it mattered most. It would just be weird to brag about being the best team and not winning a title.

objectively though, we were the best but it means nothing (other than it hurts more to lose this one more than some others)

I’m sorry, but the best team in the country doesn’t have a let down in the last two games to a championship run. I get what you’re saying but that’s a big deal to keep that claim as best.

I think youre mixing up best and hottest.

Ole Miss was not the best team in baseball last season, but they were the hottest team in the postseason. The best does not always win.

then again I guess its a matter of philosophy.

For the record, Id rather be in LSU's spot and they owe nothing to anybody. They won the ship and we didnt. again saying "we are the best" is lame to brag about without a title, so I am not doing that.

Just like SC fans started caring about baseball in 2010

huh? We had just opened a new ball park about that time, but we were packing the sarge as long as I have been alive. We cared about baseball long before 2010.

I was unaware South Carolina won the championship. Everything I read led me to believe LSU won the title.

Except these players have won something and were the best team all year. It’s not even comparable to Tennessee baseball.

What did they “win”? A trip to the final four?!? You are a dolt.

He is referring to the fact they were the national champions the year before, but you knew that. They were on a 41 game winning streak.

Its okay to say that for the season they were the best team. That doesnt take away from LSU winning it. Gamecock fans admit that we were not the best team in 2017, UConn was, but they lost to Miss State.

Its crazy how defensive yall get considering you have won titles in a lot of sports.

Yeah because this is the first time that’s ever happened in college sports, or sports in general.

Bingo. Was referring to this group of players. They didn’t just play one season.
