I think you mean he had the chance to kill someone legally.
Murder is the crime; it's only "murder" if done so illegally.
Otherwise you're implying every soldier who killed someone in battle is a "murderer" and every cop who killed a criminal to save someone is a "murderer"

LSU once got a TD called back because a punter flexed on another player.
But this was cool.
