regardless if his record ever gets broken.
avg 44.2/ppg with no 3 point line and shot clock.
3,667 points in 3 years.
50+ years later many of his records still stand

I got to see him play against Florida in Alligator Alley. Just phenominal. He bounced the ball off of his head to a player ahead of him on a fast break. Scored effortlessly. So much fun to watch. The greatest ever.

A lot of people said the same shite about Larry Bird v. Dominique Wilkins. Go see what Wilkins said about matching up against bird. Also, there’s a guy named Michael Jordan who would beat all of them.

It’s good to see 21 year olds praising the past greats, Pio.

There are many videos out there, quoting numerous NBA stars back in Pete's prime, and they all say Pete would be a star in any era. Magic in particular raves AND raves about how good Pete was. What does LJ have to do with this thread?? If ESPN / highlights existed back then, Pete would have been the PR equal of LJ, et al.

Points scored is an overrated stat. Maravich took over 38 shots per game in his college career. There's a reason his LSU teams weren't very good despite his record scoring.

Nothing. But you can't say anything nice about players from another school without some posters coming post simply to troll. They simply can't help themselves.

LeBron would hip check him one time and Petey would be out for 6 months.

Lefraud plays in a very passive NBA. In the 70-90’s he wouldn’t get away with the elbows, hooking, forearm, and shouldering people out of the way to get his shot. He’s lucky there are very few real centers or power forwards in the league. He would be put in his place very quickly. Maravich actually played in that era and had great success
