Since 2010 I’m sick of seeing big games in Arizona. The turf is absolutely miserable every game I watch a game on that field. Just sprint turf the damn thing and be done. It’s always an issue

It was terrible when we played for the natty in 2011 out there. Can’t believe that haven’t been forced by the NFL to fix that.

That field is so bad, how they haven't changed it IDK.

I'll say it once and I'll say it again, Phoenix should be banned from hosting th Super Bowl or a CFP/Fiesta Bowl game until they fix that field

Also, that Fox scoreboard is UGLY.

Is it because they’re doing grass in a stadium with a retractable roof and it should be that rubber turf stuff?

The architecture design is incredible it just doesn’t work. Once the Sun stops drying the field in the sun it just becomes so slick once back inside almost like the field “sweats” is the way I would describe it.

But yes it shouldn’t be the host of any big games college or pro until some changes are made.

It affects multiple plays every game

Need a gif of that Hurts fumble asap. There’s some Updykes that need to see it on my social media, after trying to claim him.

It’s not the same turf. They made the turf for this game completely new, which is part of the problem. It was the same with ours. It’s turf that’s never been played on and they always seem to over water it.

Twitter Thread on Turf

It’s Tacoma 31 Bermudagrass developed by Oklahoma State, grown in Scottsdale for 18 months.

Down in the thread someone mentioned that the last Super Bowl played there used grass from Foley, AL.

After Siposs’s horrible punt can we make sure Australia claims him and not Auburn?

Hurts looked like Chris Todd on that last Hail Mary throw.

And it's in the middle of the fricking desert, which isn't ideal for most grass.

It kinda looked like his arm or the ball got hit. I know he's got a stronger arm than that.

I remember they said they replaced the turf like a week or two before we played there in 2010. That seems to happen pretty often for these big games. I'll never understand why because anyone knows that's not long enough for any kind of turf to fully take root, so there are always issues with the field when that happens.

I’ve seen some recent Cardinal home games and they have the same issue.

I think the problem is they let it bake outside in the dry desert during the day and roll that shite indoors and it soaks up water like a sponge. That’s my observation.

Solution just scrap the rolling the grass outside and just sprint turf it. Save time, money, injuries, and the effect on the games.
