Anyone mentioned this? I saw it and thougt that it should have been called even though the game was on the line. Only call egregious penalties at that point.

There was egregious holding on almost every play and not in the “there’s always holding on every play” kind of way.

They didn't call holding all night for either side, but Jalen was getting mugged like a hooker in a Memphis alley all night.

Part of OSUs game plan for sure - why wouldn’t you try to hold if it doesnt ever get called?

And read the comments with all the OSU fans defending it as a legal pancake.
The guy bearhugged Carter and tackled him.

GA fans just can’t help themselves! It’s part of their DNA to complain about refs, especially when they were losing. It’s actually carrying over to games they win.
My God talk about beating a dead horse.

Saw that. Probably the most blatant hold, but there were many more. I think it was part of the OSU game plan as long as they could get away with it, and I don’t blame them. Offensive holding is the great equalizer, if the refs don’t call it.

You wanted to be bama, well enjoy the holding on your DL. It comes with the territory.

At this point they should let the offensive line tackle legally and let dbs tackle receivers.

That's pretty damned excessive. Definitely should have been flagged on that play.

I'm always curious how it looks at field level though. Does the ref actually see the hold (basically tackle), or by the time the other linemen move does he just see two players on the ground? We have the benefit of an angle the refs don't have, and you can't call that penalty on a review.

Not that I have any interest in defending refs, but I imagine Pac-10 refs are about as neutral as you're going to get, so it's not like they were actively trying to help OSU win the game.

I've made several posts about #55.

I hope TCU wins it all but the shite 55 got away with that night was so hilariously bad I would watch sky cam view when Ohio state was on offense just to see wtf he'd get away with next.

Several times he had a d lineman in a bear hug with his hand on their back while locked up face to face. Arms around the neck... it was quite entertaining.
