Link me all the vaccines where the manufacture didn’t have immunity, since you stated covid 19 vaccine is the only one. Again, you are ignorant. I call out your ignorance and you resort to ad hominem attacks assuming I’m a leftist joy Reid viewer. Here is your link since this appears the first time you have even attempted to research the subject despite spouting strong opinions and incorrect facts. LINK
Did you even read the link you sent? All vaccines can lead to a company being sued that develop them. Here’s a link.
Look that to top. They can sue for any vaccine except for Covid.
The act you sited protects the companies from frivolous class action lawsuits. It allows people to sue anytime within 36 months of being vaccinated and they can sue for damages not just their medical bills.
Here’s a link from MSNBC, of all places, showing you cannot sue for Covid vaccine damages.
CNBC “ You can’t sue Pfizer or Moderna if you have severe Covid vaccine side effects. The government likely won't compensate you for damages either”

I’m ignorant but you site a policy you obviously haven’t read. VICP doesn’t apply to Covid
CICP does. Here’s the problem with a program like Countermeasures Injury Compensation Program. You at best will get medial bills paid for by our government and compensation for missed time at work. Because that’s all you can get no lawyer will touch it. Without a lawyer you will likely be denied your claim. It’s a BS program to let the government look good when it’s really just a red herring.
VICP doesn’t apply to Covid CICP does and it sucks.

1. The polio vaccine, and every other vaccine for that matter, went through the normal process of being developed. It wasn’t sped through by multiple companies that had incentive to be first.
Let's check history before making these claims...
quote:
In April 1955 more than 200 000 children in five Western and mid-Western USA states received a polio vaccine in which the process of inactivating the live virus proved to be defective. Within days there were reports of paralysis and within a month the first mass vaccination programme against polio had to be abandoned. Subsequent investigations revealed that the vaccine, manufactured by the California-based family firm of Cutter Laboratories, had caused 40 000 cases of polio, leaving 200 children with varying degrees of paralysis and killing 10.

quote:Again, that is under PREP which I informed you about. Covid vaccine is not the only vaccine that has fallen under that program. Now it is under CICP and treated like almost every other vaccine, contrary to your misinformed analysis.

CICP does.
But you are right, I got my VICP and CICP mixed up.
Since the 80s manufacturers of vaccines have always been protected and victims were compensated under these programs. Covid vaccines aren’t unique in that aspect.

How does this help your point? My original point was that the current polio vaccine has been tested. If a common cold vaccine was released today without any extensive testing I wouldn’t give that to my kids either. The polio vaccine was invented in 1955. Yes it had issues in 1955. That’s everyone’s fear about the Covid vaccine that was developed in 2020-21. It’s too new. It hasn’t been properly tested and it’s not needed for most people.
People got to sue the makers of the polio vaccine.
quote:
Sixty lawsuits were subsequently filed. The first resulted in a verdict that “affected all pharmaceutical companies for the next fifty years.” The jury found that Cutter was not negligent in producing the vaccine, but had breached an implied warranty that their product was safe.

The Infectious Disease doctor i work with knows the guy from Vanderbilt that developed the mRNA vaccine technology. He tells me that it was lucky we've been working on the tech for 10 years and was able to deploy it for COVID. Tells me China has been trying to hack/steal the tech the past years as they can't openly admit that the western vaccine is better than the shite they use. I work here in West Texas, the energy capital of the US.

My advice to the anti-vaccine crowd:
Think back to high school. Remember how you were far from the top of your class? Remember those really smart kids that went on to become doctors? Well, those kids spent another 8+ years learning in college, then several more years doing a residency before even becoming doctors. And, then however more years of actual experience they have. Those people still know more than you and whatever youtube propaganda you're falling for.

I don’t even care to argue with you anymore but I don’t want you misinforming others. I know we are getting less and less likely to actually read and just trust someone who spits talking points that reinforce our beliefs so your statements are dangerous so I will rebuttal again.
I don’t believe you that you mixed them up. I think you intentionally submitted VICP because if anyone reads the link I posted about CICP they’ll see they will get basically nothing and they are fighting alone against our government to try and get compensated.
VICP somewhat protects Pharma companies but it doesn’t give them full immunity. The government foots the bill under most circumstances but it’s enough money to have entire law firms dedicated to suing the government for it. If the Pharma companies are intentionally negligent they can be sued themselves still. Under CICP, they cut your timeframe for starting the process down from 3 years from the vaccine to 1 year. Are other vaccines included? Yes, and I will list them below. None of these other vaccines have ever been mandated to the public and forced upon us by forcing companies to have vaccinated employees. Here is the list so that can be fact checked:
COVID-19
Marburg
Ebola
Nerve Agents and Certain Insecticides (Organophophorus and/or Carbamate)
Zika
Pandemic Influenza
Anthrax
Acute Radiation Syndrome
Botulinum Toxin
Smallpox

Sometimes that normal developing process involves infecting 20% of the patients with the disease you're trying to prevent. If you want to hold it up as the gold standard for vaccine inventing, you have to acknowledge a lot of eggs got broken to make that omelet.

You probably disagree but there are institutions of higher learning all across the country proving that more education doesn't necessarily make you smart.

1. Stop trying to group people who against the Covid vaccine as anti vaccine. My family is fully vaccinated.
2. You are doing the same thing the person earlier did. You are strictly siting doctors and scientists who are incentivized and go on TV. That’s the same as saying the people in the 50s should’ve trusted the doctors on tv that said smoking is perfectly safe. Ask 10 local doctors if you should get the vaccine. I have. 8 out of 10 said don’t get it.
3. The argument that those who disagree with you must be dumber than you just makes everyone question your intelligence. Every single level of intelligence has people on both sides of this issue.

No a majority of doctors and researchers from literally around the world
but you talked to some general practitioners so I guess that beats out, ya know, the world

Once again, when that is done those people are compensated and they sign up for the risk.( I’m not going to go into the moral grey area there because it will derail this entire thread even more.)That’s completely different from public being forced to take it. If it’s forced on us then any percentage of “broken eggs,” as you so eloquently put it, is too much.
