Saban lobbying for his team to get in the playoffs was one of the biggest backfires I’ve….

…seen. The move has gotten overwhelmingly bad feedback from everyone. And you just know that the committee, either subconsciously or not, told themselves that they could not give off the impression that Saban talked his way into the playoffs. That would set a ridiculous precedent that would undermine the legitimacy of the committee. Any chance Bama had of getting in was immediately destroyed. Terrible idea by the Alabama brain trust.

It’d be cool if something backfired on your face

Every once in a while you have to be reminded to breathe, don't you?

Because Saban has shown himself to be overly concerned with those opinions in the past.

We went below a 0% chance? Wow.

You guys are still defending him? Hilarious.

I'm not defending him at all; I'm just pointing out the absurdity of your claims.

Lol, Saban really gets everyone rustled basically doing nothing.
Saban doing everything he can to help his team. Not sure why anyone would complain

Y’all are putting an incredibly positive spin on shameless begging.

Saban's old he gets confused sometimes. It will happen to you one day too.

Yeah but hopefully I won’t be that pathetic.

I'll bring it up in the next REC meeting that we really need to spend more money making sure we run commercials to really drive it home

The hypocrisy.
That is where the complaining comes from.
Saban publicly stated that UGA was one of the top 4 teams in the country after the 2018 SECCG. But he voted UGA #5 in the coaches poll because of the 2 losses.

f bama hilarious that they're out, but come on isn't that his job? so he should just shut up or say "YEAH YOU KNOW WHAT WE DO SUCK IM A BAD COACH" like come on. deep down he knows they dont deserve it but publicly of course he will gun for his team

To pimp himself out on national tv? No, that’s not his job. His job was to win football games. Which he failed to do to the extent that his team got into the playoffs.

Rerun of what he pulled off in 2011, but wasn't successful this time...

No one outside of this board gives a shite about it. Saban always lobbies for his team. There's nothing wrong with him doing that.
Alabama was never getting in with 2 losses and no conference championship with the way it played out. His lobbying had absolutely nothing to do with it either way.

You think that maybe, possibly it was because he didn't want to have to play Georgia again?
