This is why we should be glad we didn’t get Kiffin

He’s a great coach. Would have obviously turned us around after Turd Morris.

But he is currently dragging his nuts all over the Ole Miss and Auburn fan bases right now. And after the Bobby Petrino, Johnelle, Bert and Turd Morris debacles, I don’t need that kind of drama in my life

if we could have just caught that damn foul ball 4 years ago, I could have mustered up the can-do for a lot of shite

but I love Sam anyway, so it's all good

I wanted him, but I also thought he would jilt us at the earliest convenience.

But would he really? With his use of the portal and not recruiting, last year is as good as he gets. Also when he leaves that team collapses.

Maybe, but he would have made this job attractive again nationally

This is exactly what you get with Lane and I think HY knew that. Not convinced he was ever actually offered the job because of it.

He was definitely offered, then backed out of the agreement when sexton got a higher offer from ole miss, hy balked and moved on. Glad he did

By ditching us for the first relatively attractive offer?

I'll take Pittman.

Agree. That’s why I named the thread what I named the thread

If he leaves he will gut them like Riley did OK. That's why we didn't want him. A guy like Pitt coaching us during this portal madness is a great thing.

I don't believe that verbal agreement existed and Arkansas just wasn't interested considering his coaching record is very flakey. I don't believe many schools were but low and behold Ole Miss has to scrap something from the bottom.

You can say this, but he’s clearly a good Xs & Os coach

only on offense. His defense is atrocious.

You can find plenty of those but don't have the amount of baggage he carries around.

Some coaches have it and he never did.

If we had Kiff and he was about to leave, we would probably fall right into High Freeze... Who actually may be a better coach than Kiffin and probably the closest thing we could again to Bobby P.

My order last time:

1a) Kiffin
1b) Rhule
2) Freezus

My order this time:
1) Freezus
2) Dan Lanning
3) Dykes (but I’m not sure if he isn’t in the perfect spot/storm right now)

In the event we were looking, there is zero chance Dykes or Lanning would leave their current jobs to come here.

It's like some of y'all forgot that our last two coaching hires were a 14-22 coach from SMU and a career OL coach because zero people wanted this job.

While we're in *much* better shape now than we were when we were looking last time, we're still 11 years removed from our last 10 win season and looked at by the rest of college football as a middle to lower tier SEC team.

I know, right? Just look how great every other college, he ever head coached at, did on the National stage after he left.

Are you attempting to say Tennessee, USC and Alabama weren’t national brands after he left?
