It's pretty much this, and I think he knows it as well. He knows the coaches we have right now aren't up to keeping the standard. Especially on offense.
If you can read between the lines, you can hear it when he talks, even though he doesn't say it directly.
If you could pick any person in the world to pick your replacement staff, who would it be? Nick Saban. That's what I see. But you can't do that in October or November.
If we don't see major changes after the season, that's when I'll start to worry about Saban.

That, and the transfer portal.
Arguably, Alabama has benefited the most from the portal since it came into being and they're still signing top classes.
Alabama's problem is brain drain and Smart recruiting the exact same body types in the same recruiting footprint.

Last year Alabama pulled in the #2 class, which was in itself a high enough rated class to be #1 in most years. And that was coming off the best class ever the previous year.
As far as the transfer portal goes, Alabama has been rated #1 in that most years as well, or top3 at a minimum. I don't think any school has benefited from the portal more than Alabama, as Alabama has picked up multiple #1 draft picks from it, who started immediately and had an impact.
Have you asked yourself why a program that has such great recruiting classes needs to go get starters from the transfer portal? Sounds like the bench is getting restless.

Yes, Kirby is so different from Saban in how he runs his program, and his style works perfectly in the NIL era. Great observation. A+. Exactly what we pay for on this board.

I don't personally think so. I think saban has been paying for players for years under the table somehow including the dodge charger gate. It's just been too obvious. But due to the revenue it has brought amongst the SEC and the national spotlight, I do see why they would keep it under wraps. I mean Jimbo spoke on it a little bit, but there's a reason why coaches don't ever talk about that stuff, and we all know it happens. At the end of the day, it's literally all about the money. Literally MONEY. So, no I don't think it killed bama, although I think the playing field has been leveled and every team now can do what they've been doing for years.
Now, don't get me wrong I think NIL has been a long time coming. Playing players for football should have been a thing from the start. NCAA is a joke. The amount of work these young men put in to not get paid a dime was a crime, but glad its fixed now.

Alabama literally has the best roster in college football so this is a moronic take.
What killed Alabama football was Saban hiring Golding. Then when Sark left hiring Bill O'Brien.

Both coordinators are terrible. That is the reason. It’s up to Saban to replace those guys, so I’ll start worrying if he doesn’t.

Considering they finished #2 in recruiting last year and #1 currently, I would say no it hasn’t!

Saban's done.
If you Gumps think he has the energy to build the program back up again, youre delusional.

It’s certainly neutralizes the REC.

Why do I need to ask, the answer is pretty obvious. We've been losing 10+ players to the draft year after year, in addition to any that happen to graduate out and/or transfer.

Looks like you're already super busy arguing with people online. Are you sure you have time?

Has nothing to do with NIL or the transfer portal. We simply have two shitty coordinators because Saban made some bad hires.
It's def a talent issue. Last yr you had the same coordinators and made the championship game.
Your offensive line and reeivers aren't elite like usual.

It cuts into my Saban worship time a little, but I think I can swing it.

I think the reports of bama’s demise are a bit premature
