In light of recent events, AL.com post a top 10 most underachieving SEC teams in chronological order.

1. 2000 Bama
2. 2003 Auburn
3. 2005 Tennessee
4. 2008 Auburn
5. 2010 Alabama
6. 2010 Florida
7. 2013 Georgia
8. 2014 South Carolina
9. 2015 Auburn
10.2020 LSU

One thing in common for all these programs is that they've made it to Atlanta before.

Shocked that we only made this list once.

2020 gets my vote for most underachieving. Truly abysmal year for a hyped up fanbase.

2018 Georgia belongs on here. That team had no business losing 3 games

No A&M team made the list because no one ever expects them to do anything of note, hence they can't underachieve.

This is stupid. Expectations made by the media and then unfulfilled lol.

Broken record for me at this point — I think I've mentioned this several times this year alone — but still the most enigmatic season of the Saban era, IMO.

Roster: McElroy, Ingram, J.Jones, Carpenter/Warmack/B.Jones/Fluker, Dareus, Hightower, Upshaw, Kirkpatrick, Barron

Staff: Burns, Davis, Pendry, Pruitt, Smart, Sunseri

Record: 10–3 (5–3 SEC); sandwiched between BCS NCs in 2009, 2011

2008 UGA was far bigger underachiever than the depleted 2013 UGA. So was 2014 UGA.

Surprised LSU 2021 didn't make it. Is that because they were expected to be shitty again?

We literally had walkons starting at WR and RB due to injuries

Add 2022 Bama. Everyone had them a playoff lock and likely champ

2019 AU should replace 2015 AU.

2008 was pretty disappointing as an LSU fan. Defending champs, RP kicked off the team so we had to start a Harvard transfer the first few games until he got concussed against Auburn, then had to alternate freshmen the rest of the season (they would rotate in and out for the next few seasons actually). Got 50+ hung on us twice by UGA and Florida, aided by pick sixes which was a theme throughout the season. Had to come back from 31-3 against Troy in the freezing cold.

I mean, idk, not really. There were 3 or 4 games we lost that could’ve gone our way with a few different bounces, but that team still felt like a 5-7 team talent-wise

The start of the downfall of the 2014 South Carolina football team. Thanks Kenny Hill.

That 2013 Georgia team was loaded when healthy. I remember South Carolina was #6 and lost to them in the 2nd game of the year.

Yea losing 15 starters to the NFL, two coordinators, starting DT to Baylor, O’s wife, and the starting QB after 3 games will do that. The only thing overachieving about LSU in 2020 was Coach O’s Snapchat game.
