Pretty simple - who are the SEC blue bloods and why? I think this chart pretty well breaks it down. This came up in an unrelated thread and was a good discussion.
CFB Blue Blood Chart
Bama and OU - Indisputable
TX - Will be as soon as they join. Nearly indisputable
FL, UGA, AU, Tenn, LSU - Probably, if you're definition is top 15 or so teams
TA&M, Arky - Close but not quite... maybe with a strong decade
Tier 1
Ohio State
Alabama
Oklahoma
Tier 2
Nebraska
Notre Dame
USC
Texas
Michigan
Tier 3
Florida
Auburn
Penn State
Fl State
UCLA - Living off old glory. Maybe they bring it back in the B10
UGA
TENN
LSU
Miami
Tier 4
Washington
T A&M
Clemson - Rising fast
Arkansas

I never thought of blue bloods by tiers, you either are or aren’t imo

An Auburn fan posting this and Auburn not listed on any of the tiers
ETA: And now adds Auburn to tier 3 list

They should be rare (limited to 1 in a region)
They should be #1 in a region
ACC = none
B1G = Ohio State
B8 = Oklahoma
SWC = none
PAC = Southern Cal
USA = Notre Dame
SEC = Alabama

Alabama
Ohio St
Notre Dame
Oklahoma
Southern Cal
The 5 true blue bloods, in order. After that,
Michigan, Nebraska, Texas in the next tier... followed by Tennessee, LSU and the Florida schools.

Imo there are probably 10 schools that could be considered "blue bloods",
No order, but Bammer is pretty much #1...
Alabama (SEC)
Notre Dame
USC
Oklahoma
Texas
Michigan
UGA (SEC)
Ohio State
Tennessee (SEC)
LSU (SEC)
There might be a couple more like maybe Nebraska, Penn State and Clemson (rapidly getting to blue bloods status)

There is only one SEC blue blood, Bama.
Next closest is either
UT (.671 winning %, 861 wins, 2 NCs)
LSU (.653 winning %, 814 wins, 4 NCs)
UGA (.661 winning %, 859 wins, 2 NCs)

Are we using the all time wins ever? I thought the media goes by that

They didn’t want to admit they likely are below A&M.

Nope Tier 3 actually. A&M really wouldn't make the cut by any measure.

Bugs me that Nebraska is a tier above LSU, but it makes sense by every objective measure for blue bloods. Obviously the last quarter century is hands-down LSU, but blue blood is usually about dusty records, and they lead in almost every category.

Because recency isn't important, I think that blue blood should be based on the last six teams to win a title in a major men's sport.
This means that the six blue bloods are:
Georgia, Alabama, and LSU because of football
and
Ole Miss and State for baseball
and
South Carolina for women's basketball.
Apologies to VU and UF baseball, Auburn Football, and Kentucky basketball - I'm sure you'll get back on track soon.

Just someone's opinion.....and it's quite flawed.

AUburn tier 3?....BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Once Oklahoma and Texas arrive, Auburn will be middle to lower in the SEC.
