I don't have a problem with the phrase/motto. The flag just doesn't need words. Flags don't need words.
It's not a political thing, religious thing, or separation of church and state issue. It's just unnecessary, clunky, and forced on there.

Really?? C'mon man, this was Georgia thumbing their noses at the haters...
You are now getting into what flags mean to many different cultures. THE Confederate flag was also the face and image of a number of hate groups for over a hundred years. THAT Confederate flag has been at many a rally denoting white power and racism. If we are discussing the power of a flag as the face of a cause, that Confederate flag has been waving over much more than capital buildings in the South.

I was listening to the radio broadcast Saturday and Kellum still refers to them as Rebels.
We've never changed it from Rebels and I hope we never do.

Curious what is perspective of every 4-5 star on Ole Miss' roster on this. You should ask them.

Alexander Stevens the Vice President of the CSA disagrees with you
“Its (the CSA) foundations are laid, its cornerstone rests upon the great truth, that the negro is not equal to the white man; that slavery—subordination to the superior race—is his natural condition. This, our new government, is the first, in the history of the world, based upon this great physical, philosophical, and moral truth.”

I was a student when that happened.
The tradition existed before I enrolled.
Why do we catch the blame for continuing a tradition we didn't start? Why is it entirely our fault? We didn't come up with it or make it popular? It was popular when we got on campus.
Furthermore, when you threaten college kids at a known party school to attempt to coerce them from doing something, what do you think they're going to do? Comply? lolz
I graduated in 1991. We still waved Rebel flags, er, stirred our whiskey with the sticks and chanted "Play DIXIE" to the band until they did again, but we NEVER yelled TSWRA. Never. So, I blame you and your's.

I was a student from mid to late 90s and whenever From Dixie with Love was played TSWRA was not part of the ending. That’s something that got started after I left. I heard it at the UGA and the epic letdown 2003 LSU game. I knew it was bad a just thought these damn idiot wannabes. The song may have eventually gone away anyway like Col. Reb but chanting that expedited it.
