Atlanta today. I was just out at lunch and driving behind my office in North Druid Hills, there’s a shopping center with a hopdoddy that just opened. I hadn’t heard about it coming to Georgia. Almost wrecked my Tacoma. I still throw the “horns down”, but getting a hopdoddy is life changing. I guess if Texas is joining the SEC, then Austin restaurants have to spread across the Southeast also.

If they could ship that original Torchy's, or original Chuy's, or even that Lupe Tortilla on MoPac over here to my area of Louisiana that'd be appreciated.

I think I drove past a Torchy’s around Lake Charles a few weeks ago. We have a Chuy’s in Kennesaw, GA.

Lupe Tortilla gets shite on due to being a chain but their fajitas are pretty damn good. Puffy tacos too.

I honestly had no idea Hopdoddy was an Austin thing. Do they market themselves as an Austin experience in some way, or did the restaurant just happen to start in Austin?

Hopdoddy started in Austin and is HQ’d in Austin.

Meh. It's just a hamburger. We have plenty of places that sell those where I live.

The haberno burger paired with a stout margarita is better than most burger joints.

I figured as much given the thread. But do people think of it as an "Austin" establishment?
Or is like Chilis, which started in Dallas, but nobody ever goes to Chilis thinking "wow, this is a totally Dallas place to go." It's just Chilis.

No offense to any of those outside of Texas, but one of the best things about living here is that you can get real Mexican food that is twice as good as any of those places for half the price in almost any town.

Both OKC locations are now shut down.

One of the founders of Hopdoddy is Larry Foles, he has had several successful restaurants around Austin
He also has a Son, Nick Foles, who was the Super bowl MVP a few years back

Lupe fajitas are freakin awesome. Flat enchiladas are good as well. I love Lupe. Eat there twice a month at least.
Hopdoddy is fantastic as well.

Yes there’s a Torchy’s in Lake Charles right off the I-210 loop near the casinos.
