Not speaking specifically to our current situation (although its certainly a part of it), but it appears their two-decade run of success has come to a sudden end.

Its been brought many times how Harsin is the latest in a long line of HCs who came off the blue field and fell flat on their faces - Koetter, Hawkins, even Petersen, who after initial success at UW he stumbled his last couple of years, then handed the reins to his hand-picked successor Jimmy Lake, who imploded and got fired in his 2nd season after shoving a player.

Now another Petersen protege, Andy Avalos, who took over BSU when Harsin bolted for the Plains, has lost 7 of his first 16 games, fired his OC just a month into the season (and replaced him with Koetter, who wore out his welcome in the NFL) and his 4-year starting QB is quitting.

I’m sure a lot of Boise fans will blame this all on Harsin, but it seems to me they have collectively jumped the shark as a program.

Is that QB transferring to Oregon by any chance? If not, AU should take him.

The Boise way works in the Mountain West, but it doesn't work outside of it, especially in the SEC when you need to land 4 star recruits to be middle of the road, and 5 stars to compete.

NIL is going to destroy a lot of programs like Boise. There is simply no way they can generate the money needed to remain competitive at a P5 level.

When Harsin first got to Auburn and started to talk about the "Boise Way" it gave me pause. And since then he has never really shut up about Boise.

That was my point, I don't think it does any more.

7-5 last year, maybe 6-6 this season or worse.

The bloom is off the (blue) rose.

It needs to be. All we have to show for Harsin's time at Auburn is shame and embarrassment.

I agree and that has been why I have been open to ho u h I hate it from the beginning. Gone are the days of 4 year guys at a lower program growing into a good player. Noise used to be good because their players stayed there the whole time. They had a lot of upper class men that grew into a good team. Now, those guys can transfer in a day and get paid a bunch of money when they want.
