First round is a mixed bag, some definite clear favorites in every matchup but games I would still watch. The second round has some really interesting potential though.

I'm sorry what? He's got FSU in there and they are currently ranked 23.
If you aren't a conference winner or you aren't top 12 you shouldn't be there. Hell, there are two other ACC teams that he didn't put in who are ranked higher in Wake and NC State.

I'm picking James Madison to win this one.

I’d just like to remind Ross Dellinger that James Madison is ineligible for the post season.

Yeah, to be honest, I don't really understand it either. It looks like he's using scheduling as his reasoning.
quote:
We are using the exact model CFP executives adopted last month. The 12-team model features automatic qualifiers to the six highest-ranked conference champions and six at-large selections to the next six highest-ranked teams.
Several teams lost their spots in the field from last week—Arkansas, Kentucky, App State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and NC State.
The Cowboys, Wolfpack and Wildcats didn’t lose, but were leaped by a few teams based on results and schedules. Keep in mind the committee is cognizant of how teams win and the teams they beat. Schedules are of utmost importance.

Damn love that Tennessee draw.

We can only assume since he doesn't specify his exact method, but as he mentions scheduling:

UGA vs Bama
UT vs OSU
3 SEC teams in Final Four
I thought a major point of the 12 team playoff was to give other teams outside of the SEC a chance. I think it'll hurt more than it helps.

I mean if other conferences can’t get there, then they can’t get there.

James Madison can't play in the postseason this year
So who is the 12
So who is the 12

I have a hard time believing this is a Top 25 schedule
5 Game summaries
5.1 Colorado State (0-4)
5.2 Hawaii (1-4)
5.3 UConn (1-4)
5.4 Maryland (3-1) - no big wins tho
5.5 at Iowa (3-1) - no big wins tho
5.6 at Indiana (3-1) - no big wins tho
5.7 Penn State (4-0) - beat Auburn but Auburn is dumpster fire this season
5.8 Michigan State (2-2) - no big wins
5.9 at Rutgers (3-1) - no big wins tho
5.10 Nebraska (1-3) - dumpster fire
5.11 Illinois (3-1) - no big wins tho
5.12 at Ohio State (4-0) - Beat a Notre Dame that is not looking good
Most SEC schools would love a schedule with only 2 games in a 12 game season.

Personal opinion is that this is a Pointless exercise this early in the season
