Welcome to Austin, from Deep in the Heart of the Texas Hill Country.
The Texas State Capitol, stop by for a bit and get out of the heat.
Main Building (University of Texas at Austin)
Take a tour of the UT campus, the Flagship University of the State of Texas. The Main Building was designed and built with a number or artistic and architectural features. The observation deck has awesome views, but you need to do it when there aren't 100,000 people downtown. (Please make allowances, as the campus is in the middle of a large urban area.)
Mt. Bonnell; Austin is where the Hill Country meets the coastal plains. Austin was green way before it became political!
Take a spin down to South Congress Avenue, where the old (yeah!) meets the new (Boo!); have a cold drink at the Continental Club.
Barton Springs, one of the many springs along a 200 mile crescent from Georgetown-Austin-San Marcos-San Antonio - and further west about 100 miles.
My little slice of paradise, Thunder Creek Ranch, Utopia, Texas.

Be really glad when you people are gone next week.

Bama fans don't care. Just direct them to the closest golden corral and where they can find their Busch light.

And good job photoshopping out the homeless from your Austin pics.

Franking BBQ would be the only reason to go to Austin, then head south.

I hope the weather is cool. Bamas locker room will have no AC.

I do like to visit Austin, but as Buggs Bunny would ay "I wouldn't wanna live there." 5th street is fun in small doses. I do also like Hill Country and all around New Braunfels but that's a little out of the way.

I enjoyed my time in Austin driving through Texas, but I wouldn't want to live there. Pretty big homeless problem. San Antonio was a lot nicer.
El Paso was actually my favorite city after SA. The food couldn't be beat and it's got a hell of a view.

It would be a cool spot if it wasn’t overrun by dildo wielding communists calling white people evil 24/7.
