Kiffin has shown that he expects his relationship with Ole Miss to be a one-way street. Forget the fact stadium renovations are put on hold at his request. Forget the administration is willing to make him a top-paid coach. Forget the fan attendance when it’s not 109 degrees v. Jones County Community College.
Kiffin has shown he considers his tenure at Ole Miss as strictly transactional and he is willing to burn bridges and alienate portions of the fanbase. KC has to be thinking ahead to our next hire worth throwing $9M/yr. because Kiffin will bail as soon as convenient.

It’s disheartening honestly that we are held hostage by Kiffin here probably yearly until he inevitably leaves
They bring in the mercenaries for a year for the portal and they leave
My fandom is definitely lessening because it feels like nobody gives a shite about ole miss itself and you’re right it’s all transactional , it’s let’s extort this place for several million and maybe win some games
I’m being naive and this is how it’s always been but it’s so out in the open now and public that it leaves a bad taste for me .
Everyone is so quick to bolt and frick the program over and I hate it .

We can’t say the way it’s always been this way because to my knowledge (albeit as an early 30 something) because there seems to be an unprecedented consolidation of alumni financial support (Grove Collective) and administration commitment at a time when it will be “eat what you kill” because of this NIL era.

Sorry for the typos. They are woodford inspired.

I’d say this happens to slot of teams every year. However because it’s kiffin it’s covered by the media. Being #1 in online presence has its positives and negatives. Just got make the best of the situation we are given when he decides.

It’s aggravating to hear the announcers during the UF v. FSU commending FSU for being patient and “giving Norvell a chance to establish the program” and meanwhile Ole Miss handed over an entire university to an entitled, aloof sociopath who only cares about the next big media frenzy he can create and Twitter.

Anyone notice this Thursday night?
Posted on 11/26/22 at 9:48 am to sorantable
Been something weird going on with that for years now it would seem. And no, I did not notice so probably doesn’t too much matter.

Ole Miss and the Touhys made him a millionaire when he was originally destined to peddle fentanyl to frat stars on Beale St.

Did we have other past #74s out there to celebrate?
Posted on 11/26/22 at 10:03 am to sorantable
What? Did he not get an invite? Someone call the man. No need for bad blood. We have an arrogant fan base that thinks coaches are not allowed to consider other options. AU is a big program with a lot of money that made a hard run at Kiffin and he decided to stay, and we are better off for it. Let's go win a decent bowl and recruit a great class.

Reading the replies the other night it seems like a lot of the fans rightly called him out on his bs. There’s zero need to invite him to a Jersey retirement ceremony. He’s not the person being honored, and all his presence would do is take away from the main focus. Just my opinion.

Lane Kiffin told ESPN this morning he’s staying at @OleMissFB and signing an extension. “I had a meeting with the team and the staff and told them I was staying and it would be announced after the game. I didn’t want it to be about me staying before the game, but about the team.”
So I don’t want to make it about me so I didn’t sign or say anything and in the process dominated everything and made it all completely about me so the team couldn’t move on and focus on the games
LK is an elite narcissist

We are definitely in better shape next year. Without Kiffin we probably lose half the roster and go 4-8. With Kiffin we probably win 8/9 wins next year.

Exactly. Switching coaches hurts recruiting. Let's get some portal magic to complement Dart and Judkins and let's go. Dart had a slow start but ended up looking pretty polished. The wr's dropped sooo many great passes from him. 9-3.

What did Kiffin do that made it all about him? He isn’t the one that was putting out Auburn info. He pretty much shut up with the exception of the WCBI sports reporter.
And he kinda had to say something about that. Rumors are one thing…..but reporting on something as a “matter of fact” is the other.

Once more, hypothetically speaking who would we have beaten from the East the way we looked at the end of the season. Not Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, and probably not Missouri or Florida. Add in Alabama, LSU, Arkansas and State from the West and you get us in 10th. We’ve got work to do.
