Was expecting a rowdy crowd for the opening game of the season, but seemed to be a graveyard for most of the day

They hit a lull in the 2nd/3rd quarters but sounded loud and affected the game when needed

I thought it was decent outside of the complete library it turned into at the beginning of the 2nd half. I think most people just expected us to eventually win this one so the urgency wasn't always there. Felt that way with the team at times too.

Even in the lower level I can barely hear the band and the player intros were kinda lame compared to previous years. They also played the same hype songs about 2-3 times throughout the game

I was watching up in Madison and thought it sounded great

The new running through the A intro was garbage. The fireworks were cool but the buildup was just like oh yeah here comes the Hogs by the way. No build up at all. I don’t understand how we continue to fail at that each year.

The flame throwers made me want to grab a bag of hot dogs.

Bunch of non self aware Midwest/yankee transplants that think NWA is the bonafide center of the universe. When the reality is it’s still not even a fart on anyones radar.
What do you expect?

The announcers said the crowd influenced the game more than once

was anybody in this thread at the game?
the only thing I noticed out of order was the students no longer ride during William Tell.
They just stood there.
WTF.

Yeah the student section was a bit weak
The rest can be chalked up to it being hot as frick IMO. Crowd by me was loud when it needed to be

Yes.
Crowd was loud when it needed to be. After the half, the student section was very thin and lots of empties on the top sections of their lower level. Pretty disappointed in that.
While it was only 84-85 during the game, the sun was hot as hell.
I don’t think it was Texas great, but it certainly wasn’t bad.

It was all very disjointed. You already had the team captains at midfield and then Cincinnati ran out onto the field at almost the same time which distracted from the whole thing. I guess the new trend is for visiting teams to come out simultaneously so they don’t get booed or whatever but it seems tacky to me. Maybe it’s a TV thing where the production crew makes us do everything more quickly so they can follow their script to a T

The student section top 10 rows left in the 3rd quarter. That amazed me.

Yep, I noticed that while watching highlights of the game this morning. The upper 5th or so of the student section had emptied out, which is crazy since it was a close, back and forth game.
Maybe they thought we had it in the bag after going up 31-17, which tells me they haven’t been watching Razorback football very long if they think that. Meanwhile the rest of us are jaded as hell from the last decade and our blood pressure doesn’t come down until the clock hits all zeros, no matter the lead

It was at the half when they left. I was pretty surprised. It was a 14-0 game. Not 42-0.

Being at the game (and on the away side), you really cannot overstate how hot it was. There was 0 relief from the sun all game. I felt it was loud at times. Wasn’t horrible but wasn’t even in the same ballpark as the Texas game. Night will help with that.
As for the students, first home football game for all the freshmen - it was fraternity bid day and it was hot as hell. We passed several students passed out before the game even started. I’m betting a ton of them left because they were about to get sick or because the new pledges had to be at the house. It’s stupid but it’s pretty commonplace.
