Not buying one bit. They make it out that OSU is some academic first institution when in all honesty it is about football first just like the other major blue bloods in the sport and why they continually stand at the top.
In regards to NIL is where I really call BS. At least with UA because what is being said in regards to UA it is about what you do on the field that will earn you the money once you arrive. Hence the reason Saban is upset about a&m and other schools using it to recruit and pay to play schemes.
Not to mention I am friends with a current coach from my area who coaches a current commit to OSU and that is not what they are telling people about OSU regarding NIL or about academics.

reads like OSU fan fiction.

When I read the introductory paragraph, I knew it was just a question of HOW (not if) it would spin it to show osu in the very best possible light and Bama in some kind of negative light. There was next to 0% chance it would have read any other way.

I mean, Ryan Day is the one pleading for $13 million from boosters just to keep his roster intact
Ryan Day says Ohio State needs $13 million in NIL deals to maintain roster

I mean we have had numerous academics focused recruits comment on how Saban talked to them as much or more about school and life after football as he does about football itself. So yeah, that's a bunch of nonsense.

He said when they went to Ohio State it was a pretty well rounded pitch that included a 2 1/2 hour meeting on an academic plan and a discussion that included sample class schedules, syllabus, and course outlines for his kid's areas of interest. They also met with representatives of the particular department they would be studying in---as well as the head of the academic mentoring program.
Uh-huh, sure.....

I'd be careful with the heard it from a friend of a friend stuff. Not saying there might not be a one off, but that story runs contrary to more than a decade's worth of feedback.
Saban and staff are laser focused on discussing academic opportunities, support and life after football. It is absolutely what gets a lot of parents on-board.
With NIL, who knows what is being said. But, we do know it is weaponized and Saban will use that weapon to its fullest within the letter of the law to include all gray space he can find to operate.

So this is a troll, that is why I asked from which OSU Insider it was from. It is from this guy named Ken Stickney who goes by NevadaBuck. Most buckeye fans don't respect him. Here is some background on him. To be a Buckeye fan on the internet and bring this over is just trying to get a rise out of people.

That son of a bitch.

Figured you would find it interesting
What I find interesting is that you would buy this garbage. 2 specific elements are diametrically opposed to Alabama's pitch that has been often plainly stated. One is regarding academics, the other is NIL. In fact, the NIL pitch is what Saban was griping about in the off-season. Either Saban is lying or your info is stock opponent garbage.
Your info frankly appears to be garbage. What a shock that an OSU fan would buy it.

Lets not forget it is an OSU fan that created the site that went after Alabama & Saban for over signing. He had that site up over for 2 years screaming for anyone to listen. If someone disagreed with him he would turn off their posting privileges.

I'm glad that kinda $&*T got nipped in the bud over here. For a while, back in the day, it almost happened on the old thread.

I don't pay for any inside material, but I'm just not getting good vibes from these guys. Maybe they both just play it close to the vest and want to explore their options, but idk

We got a crystal ball for Renaud from Wiltfong . Roll Tide
Posted on 9/12/22 at 9:38 am to RollTide423
Hell yeah. By the way if you have a 247 subscription, Wiltfong has a message board thread called ask Wiltfong ( LINK). He will be vague if he doesn't have things locked down but you can get good info also. He has been saying in that thread for a few weeks when asked he thought Bama was leading for Renaud. Hopefully he and the Bama recruiting analyst are right. Hastings was praising him up and down this past Friday as the best player on the field and being extremely disruptive even though his team was blown out.
