Auburn is my favorite road trip.
A. Its 1.5 hours away from my house
B. The Iron Bowl
C. You know so many people once you get there.
D. Great small real college town
E. You dont have the bullshite like at LSU with fans jumping in your face smelling like Evan Williams screaming Tiger Bait at your wife and 4 year old daughter. Auburn is a social event until the game starts. Once inside the stadium the hate comes out which is fine but you never feel threatened walking to JHS. After the game we all shake hands and move on.
F. Its only a 1.5 hour drive back.

Gainseville-
A. Good to get to Florida but its central Florida
B. They are usually good hosts
C. Like Auburn, they are cool to hang with but when the game starts they are full of vigor and that stadium gets lous as it should.
D. We usually win

Arkansas-
A. Pretty part of the country
B. Hog fans are pretty cool and some good history associated with the program to talk with Hog fans about.
C. Surprisingly lots of great places to eat.
D. They arent the in your face drunks that make you miserable tailgating but like Auburn or Baton Rouge, when game time starts its as loud as anywhere and I love that.

Auburn is the answer.

Auburn is the best game day atmosphere I've been to in the SEC outside of BR.

As a total Bammer, it's Auburn all day over those two.

AU has a great restaurant scene and some nice hotels; problem is getting in on a game weekend. My guess the same for Fayetteville, but there isn't another city nearby. Auburn has Atlanta and Gainesville has Jacksonville.

You’ve missed the boat on Fayetteville if you wait until November. Could be cold af. I would shoot for October. I don’t know what the options are though without looking. Early November if possible and it may not be super cold either way, but it can be. Also all the leaves and shite are off the trees and it’s generally hazy skies, can be rainy.

I have made Mobile to Auburn a few times. Montgomery and Columbus are a mere short hike. Auburn all day over those.

LSU Ark is in November. Seems like Aub is my best bet. It’s closer anyway.

Fayetteville is fun whether you win or lose. Dickson Street is never disappointing.

shite, yeah. Looking at the schedule LSU may be your best bet. Bama would be the optimal weekend from a weather/atmosphere standpoint. Outside of that maybe SC or OM. SC will be hot as shite though. Auburn will be in Auburn.

Agreed when having to plan ahead. October is usually really nice but right at the end of October first of November a switch flips and it can be cold as balls and windy as hell before you’ve acclimated to it. I’ve frozen my arse off in that stadium during more than a few LSU games after wearing shorts just a couple weekends earlier. October is also usually reliably dry and when it rains it’s over with in a couple hours but November can just be dreary rainy mess for a week solid randomly.

When I attended Auburn fine dining was limited, but Auburn has several good restaurants now that are not aimed at poor students.

Yep, bingo. There’s about a 4-6 week stretch of porn weather each year, and October is Alexis Texas

Gainesville. Hands down.

Gainesville is my hometown and I will always love it, but it lacks charm. The stadium experience is awesome. The town itself...not so much unless you like sinkholes.

If you are looking for food options, Auburn has a great food scence. Recent Southern Living magazine article LINK

Make reservations. Waverly Local is just out of town, but is great. Acre, the Hound, etc.

With Auburn University debuting a multidisciplinary, world-class culinary school in the fall of 2022, no doubt the best is yet to come.

I’ve never been to Gainesville for a game or Fayetteville at all, by the way. I’d love to visit both for a game someday.

I’ve been to Gainesville for a game; happened to be 1996. The stadium was pretty nuts. The town…sucked.

1. Auburn: 90,000 fans, good tailgate, nice temps, nice scenery (women), Eagle flight

2. Arkansas: Beautiful town and weather. But the stadium is small compared to Auburn’s Jordan Hare. Good people.

3. Gainesville: other than the Swamp, it doesn’t feel like a college campus. It’s a Florida town, not a campus.
