I was on a Vegas trip during that game and my friend and I made it a point to go to Death Valley NP that day - one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Anyone who has been to huge games in multiple stadiums in this conference and thinks they can distinguish the noise levels is a moron. They all sound the same, really loud.

No one ever mentions BDS as being loud but I've been to a number of big games there where I couldn't hear the radio broadcast even though I was wearing headphones and max volume. Loud enough.

To this day, when I hear Sandstorm I immediately know we are about to score! It goes all the way back to that game.

I think if you ask any UGA fan that was at the game in 2012 will attest that was the loudest game they've ever been to. The Ace Sanders punt return TD was loudest moment.

Love when the #insecureLSU myths about Tiger Stadium are destroyed like this.

So many variables go to into judging noise levels. Where you sit, type of game, importance of a game, etc.

The single loudest college stadium I have been in is Tiger Stadium. Specifically, in the student section for the '87 game against Ohio State. It is mindboggling to remember that too much noise could result in a penalty back then.

LSU vs Ohio St 1987. QB steps back from center due to noise.

Of course being in the home section (more so if its the student section) of any stadium feels louder than if you are in the visitor section. Tuscaloosa in 2005 was the loudest I have experienced as a visitor, especially when we missed the FG near the end of regulation.

The single loudest football game I have attended of any type, bar none, was the Saints NFC championship game against the Rams. Obviously 99% Saints fans, in a dome, in a close game. It was painful at times. Surprisingly, Reliant Stadium, roof closed, for a Texans playoff game the noise volume for periods of time rivaled that of any college stadium. Mexicans are a lot like drunken southerners when attending football games.

We have decibel meters that have given us the unbiased answer to all this and yet we still debate it and rely on people with very subjective experiences. Weird.

That said, it's probably easier to name the less quiet stadiums than list all the large loud ones. There are a lot of rowdy SEC venues that do their teams proud.

Actually, they are very biased. Everything from the type of device, to location, and even atmospheric conditions affect the read out

They can be but every big SEC stadium that has a fanbase with a pulse is loud. The exception is probably BAMA because they have an older fanbase and take winning for granted but even they can be loud at times.

Birth of Sandstorm

That video was awesome! They played it in the biggest moment of the game, after the band finished, like 10 seconds before the next play. Everyone starts jumping in unison and kept it going until they played it again the next down.

That was pretty epic. Also cool seeing Houston Nutt vs Steve Spurrier.

I just have doubts that Arkansas's horseshoe stadium can ever win this title.

That old rickety-arse place was loud. It made it seem even louder since they were usually giving your team a nice beat down, and that war chant would get your brain vibrating. It’s a criminally underrated stadium.
