Is Bama in a perpetual rebuild?

Doesn't this happen every year there?
Kinda thought it was heavily used in recruiting (players leaving early)...like every year.
Saban said they "should have" had nine starters back on both offense and defense, but six players turned pro early, creating "question marks."

Plug and play. Saban just inserts another 5 star talent and the train rolls on.

Weird that he refers to it as "rebuilding" as if it was different than the norm.

Every team is rebuilding something every year.

So this would make saying "it's a rebuilding year" kind of redundant. No?

It is Saban making an excuse.
He is getting softer.
The next 2 seasons will be interesting.
Does he go back to his process and avoiding excuses (this was a mistake. But he is the goat.. He has earned a faux paus).
Or do we see more evidence of excuse making with frequency.

Last year was a rebuild year for Georgia.
Prior to 2021 we lost:
-Top 4 corners
-starting safety
-top pass rusher
-starting MLB
-starting TE
-two starting OL
Due to injury we were without our starting QB, another starting OL, top WR, two other WR, new starting TE.

No. The 2021 Bama draft class was different than pretty much every other year
Mac: Second in Rookie of the Year Voting
Waddle: 1000 Yard Receiver
Smith: 1000 Yard Receiver
Najee: 1000 Yard Rusher
Surtain: Ranked the #7 Corner in all the NFL by NFL coaches, execs, and players
Barmore: Looked like a future Pro-Bowl DL
Dickerson: Starter as a rookie
Leatherwood: Starter as a rookie
Why were Saban’s absolutely true comments so controversial?

He is the face and mouth of the program.
If he starts making excuses.......
Maybe saying it was a mistake. Maybe he regrets it.
Or maybe he is getting older. Paterno wasn't the same coach his last 10 years. It was a slow decline into just being a figurehead.

Or maybe it’s just the truth and you’re a retard?

I think it's fair to say it was his best coaching job. And maybe the guys they had stepping up next weren't as capable as they are used to.
It was pretty obvious that he reacted to close wins abnormally compared to the past. Whether that was a realization that the kids weren't mature enough yet to just waylay teams on a weekly basis or just the softer Saban we've heard about it (or maybe both) I don't know.
I just don't get the "we had to replace a lot of starters, so it was kind of a rebuild".
I mean, no one in Athens is looking at this year as a rebuild that I'm aware of. We had four go early and a huge amount of seniors leave.

By Sabans standards yes. We’re blessed.

I mean what? That’s the exact definition of a rebuild.

That's fair.
I mean Jesus Christ if someone were asked to define a rebuild, they would probably say;
1. Lost a ton of high end starters
2. Wildly inconsistent team
3. A significant drop off from the previous year
Saban makes that point and everyone loses their fricking minds
