All I know is we beat the best team in Georgia's history by 17
And apparently Pate agrees that it was a rebuild

I am not sure if you are just twisting facts to fit your narrative or if you are just stupid, but A&M has been in the SEC since 2012, not 2013. They went 11-2 in 2012.
I am going to go with stupid.

They lost to a 5'9 walk on QB and a team that had to play all year with a true freshmen TE and 3 true freshmen wrs. He had to come up with some excuse. Its not like they came into the season ranked #1, pre season pick to win the National Championship with a Heisman QB and 5 first team All Americans or anything.

Also littered with UGA fans. Why are they so bothered by this? Was UGA even mentioned?

The decline is real.......let the excuses roll.

Alabama Returning Production
2016 - #99
2017 - #73
2018 - #103
2019 - #63
2020 - #88
2021 - #123
2022 - #65
I mean I dunno what to tell you. Georgia won the national title. They beat Alabama to do it. Sorry if it upsets you that the Alabama team you beat wasn't one of the best of the last decade, but it pretty clearly wasn't. It doesn't bother me in the least that we Georgia's 2017 team was very good but not great, or that Texas' 2009 team lost Colt or that Ohio State's 2020 team had slow white dudes at LB. We won the titles. The opponent and their issues/deficiencies/etc is not of any concern to me.
And the returning production is pretty black and white on why it was considered a transition year.

Bama just reloads. Texas A&M on the other hand has been rebuilding since 1939.

Metchie and JAMO had 281yards and 3 TD's on all those 1st Round draft picks lol Pure domination

LSU was #15 that year, #12 on offense. Brought in wunderkind, Joey B became elite, wallah.
Only team that could fit that bill this year is maybe Ohio State (#24), possibly Clemson (#41) I guess if the new freshman QB takes over.

Is Bama in a perpetual rebuild?
Yes, they lost a lot of talent going into the 2021 season, but that's what happens almost every season due to their regular contention for championships. They consistently are at the top for recruiting, which means they consistently get the best players to develop and plug in when the upperclassmen leave.
Bama has set the bar so high regarding expectations, that they may consider 2021 a "rebuilding year" for them, but it's a laughable phrase to every other program that dreams of their success year after year.
A true "rebuild" would be like when LSU had their incredible season, lost all of their talent, and then had nothing to replace them with, causing them to eventually fire their coach to continue that rebuild. Rebuilding is when the entire house falls down and you want to get it back up. What Bama does is replace drywall and maybe a few load-bearing walls from time to time.

People have. Up to you to comprehend the information provided at this point.
The other poster was implying that Saban was taken out of context.
He called me out for not watching the entire interview.
If you or another Bama fan can fill me in on the rest of the interview that I missed, you could further cement if he has a point.
Random fans on the interwebz is irrelevant to my lack of knowledge of what Saban's point was unless they cite his interview.

Every college team goes through ebbs and flows of more experienced/talented teams matriculating through followed by less experienced/talented teams and then cycle repeats. It's just the nature of college football. Alabama isn't immune to this. Not sure what is so hard to understand
I agree.
The difference is that Saban doesn't make excuses publicly.
Every word is crafted to the media for the intent of making his team better.
Ex post facto claiming to be rebuilding doesn't seem in line with the Saban/goat of past.

That 2020 team was a well oiled machine.

That kinda did happen to Bama though. We tried to lose to Florida, LSU, & Auburn and lost to a decent Texas A&M squad
2020 LSU could have very easily “reloaded” to a Top 20 team if their coach didn’t spend 12 months partying his arse off as King of the Cajuns.

He's not making an excuse. He's just stating reality.
UGA fans are just super sensitive about it.

Yes - last year was very close to being a 9-3 team. And for most of the season that's basically how they played. Anybody who watched us all year thought that (and said it here as nauseam).
To their credit the light switch came on before the SECCG and they played pretty well in the playoffs.
