What is the secret sauce?

It’s not rocket science. Players that are 5 star level get paid. Bama has been providing incentives for years.

So has tOSU, Norte Dame and many other schools. The big difference now is that it is easier for other schools to do it.

Before, you had to have a special media relationship or have someone on a committee that would look the other way. Now, these relationships are not worth what they used to be and now we are interested in competitive fairness.

That’s rich. tOSU wasn’t interested in competitive fairness when the CFP allowed them to go to the championship after only playing 7 games. ND getting to set their own cherry picked schedule isn’t competitive fairness. Bama wasn’t concerned about fairness when they pushed every envelope possible.

The secret sauce is simple. You give recruits whatever you can legally get away with.

That’s what it is. And the only reason people are upset is because the players winning the recruiting battle have changed and those that have had advantages in the past now no longer have the same advantages.

That doesn’t mean the outcome will be any different. Bama is a good program. So are the other schools.

But let’s be honest. Saban is crying because he’s going to have to work harder to achieve the same outcome. That’s why he’s upset.
