What?! Your state allowed sports betting and it didn’t immediately get swallowed into Hell?
Don't fret, those politicians will have funneled into their pockets or into subsidizing some ridiculous new government program.

That’s crazy that lotto and sports book are not used by more states.
Some States pay lobbyist to keep lotto out of other states. I assume the same might be true for betting.

Good point. However, Tennessee generally takes more in federal funding than they provide.

Sport stadiums seem to be the big drain.

I don’t bet on football anymore.
It was more fun when it was illegal.
The whole idea of having your own bookie was cool and at least when you lost, you knew who was getting the juice.

generally 15-18% of the budget comes from feds. Out of a 50 billion budget in a state with no income tax and a sales tax that’s at 9.9% (for reference after the splost/esplost in ga I was paying 8-9%).
Solid Red conservative leadership (outside pockets like Nashville) are why the state is growing, fiscally stable, and in better shape than our neighbors.

Like who? Mississippi and Alabama are as red as red gets, so not sure the difference in leadership there. So it's hard to say having statewide conservative leadership is the difference there.
Georgia has a massive surplus along with economic and population growth (not to mention a fantastic Republican governor).

As the season gets closer the ads are starting to return in Tennessee. The state gets 20% on it and it’s online only with the Tennessee education fund already seeing 35,000,000 from it. Add in the lottery fund and the state sees about a billion a year of free money for tHOPE
This seems a bit high. Maybe I'm misreading the information or what you are stating, but according to the Tennessee lottery website, net proceeds from the lottery average 5.3 million a week.

Some states offer a 3 decade non compete monopolies on sports gambling, based solely on ethnicity. While also promising the government goon squad will crackdown on their competitors in non sports gambling

Politics is standing in Kentucky’s way. Doesn’t matter to me personally, but others it does.

That depends on what the definition of “legal” is.

What were the dates for that website? They look over 10 years old.

Your right, I tagged an old update.
Still, the first quarter of fiscal year 2021 was Tennessee’s best ever with net proceeds of 140 million. I believe the end of the fiscal year resulted in a total net of around 500 million.
