Can Arch Manning be anything other than a disappointment with this hype?

I feel sorry for this kid. He'll probably be great, but great isn't going to be good enough for him.

He's already exceeded expectations, best recruiter in CFB.

I think he'll be good, but there isn't a way for him to live up to the hype. Sucks for him.

If Beano Cook were alive he'd probably be predicting Manning to have two Heisman Trophies in three seasons while at Texas. That's how overhyped this kid is.

If he gets Texas to 10 wins again he’ll be a legend in my book

This kids fate was set when he was born a Manning and picked up a football. It won’t be fair, the expectations, but life rarely is. He will have to set his own legacy.

Most of y’all know nothing about him or have seen him play. Instead, you listen to a bunch of angry LSU people denigrate his talents. Haven’t you all seen LSUers call anyone from the State “traitor” if they go elsewhere. Don’t you remember what they said about Eli?

I’ve been following Arch Manning since 7th grade… have videos. I tell you, he has all the arm and vision tools of his uncles, but is MUCH more mobile. He is a very legitimate QB prospect and night be a even better pro.

OMG… the stupid jealous group-think we have seen in here is just ignorant. Does anyone REALLY think that every recruiting service, coaches like Saban Sark, and Smart… are dumb drooling idiots and just enthralled by the “Manning” name? That they can’t judge QB talent? …

… Or is it possible a chat board full of fat drunks butt-hurt because no Mannings ever even considered LSU or their school, are better judges of QB talent than 247, Rivals, Saban, Sark, Smart?

Jeezzz Some people are small brained… and before anyone starts in about “2A competition”, remember he had a 2A team around him.

He can make room in his trophy case for all the NCs the other Mannings won.

He didn’t go to ole miss or LSU for these exact reason, if he didn’t walk on water as a freshman he would be huge disappointment, plus LSU already has crowded Locker room, Saban is an arse to QBs and the Bama fanbase is almost as bad on its players as LSU, and his retirement is imminent so they weren’t really ever in it, plus he doesn’t need the money. That left Georgia and Texas, both out of SEC West so no real salt in the wound to his neighbors or his dads friends and both very good schools. As I said from beginning, Texas was the perfect fit, great school, football has to get better, did big NIL to pay offensive lineman etc .

Yes Manning name = attention and notoriety and $$$ for your program even if he just holds a clip board for 4 years

I don’t feel bad for him. If he’s good, then it works out. If he’s bad, that’s on himself and whoever is giving him advice. His uncles may have rings but they’re not even the best, so why would this kid be?

10 wins? Don’t put that on this young man. Eli didn’t get this much attention except from Mack Brown and his wife. Poor kid doesn’t deserve to have the responsibility of making Texas a winner. And he chose such a role model for a coach.

Let’s all admit the truth. The bloodline gets watered down with every generation. It happens.

Stop.

It doesn't matter what he has around him, nobody is talking about team results.

Where this matters is when it comes to how fast the blitzes and things come, how much time he has to react. How the defenses can disguise coverage, and on and on.

I'm not a talent evaluator, so I don't know how good he is going to be. But I do know claiming the level of competition he is playing against when watching highlights isn't important is bullshite.

Saban's the head coach of the greatest program in CFB history.. Arch is on summer break before his senior year in HS before he heads off to play for a 5-7 squad in '21.
