Yep. Unfair and just a sad fate to have been born a Manning. No telling how often he looks in the mirror with despair and utters ‘why me, god?’

It makes me sick to even type this up. Poor kid has a long road ahead.

I told my daughter she could possibly get my approval to date him, which had the exact effect I wanted, she doesn’t like him now. (Lol)

He is supposed to be good kid with Eli’s personality I keep getting told. If you don’t already know, Eli is by far the “most fun manning” or guy you want to have a beer with who never took himself or even football real seriously yet brought Ole Miss back from the dead and won two Super Bowls.

If that’s true, the hype bullshite will not bother him and he could be a great one

We didn't really recruit him that heavily. Yeah....we'd love to continue a Manning Legacy...but our offense isn't a fit for him.

Obviously I'm not trying to say he isn't good enough...just that there's no way the Mannings are going to let their kid run an RPO offense against SEC defenses that will beat him up for 2-4 years.

Hype? He appears to be an average talent, which limits options to a middle of the road Big 12 team.

Meets expectations.

One decent year and 3 ok ones, let's maybe take a step back.

Which is pretty much the Ole Miss pattern from at least the 80s until now. Handful of 4 to 7 win seasons punctuated by a 10 win one.

He didn’t go to ole miss or LSU for these exact reason, if he didn’t walk on water as a freshman he would be huge disappointment

The problem with this logic is that he chose Texas. A place where boosters try to tug the program in every which direction worse than any other school. That place is ready to put a coach’s head on a stake when he loses his first game. I doubt they’ll be too much kinder to Manning.

OMG… the stupid jealous group-think we have seen in here is just ignorant. Does anyone REALLY think that every recruiting service, coaches like Saban Sark, and Smart… are dumb drooling idiots and just enthralled by the “Manning” name? That they can’t judge QB talent? …

Both Saban and Smart cooled on Arch. They both got 5 star quarterbacks in their last class and were using arch purely from a recuriting standpoint - look what's happened at Texas since he committed.

Or is it possible a chat board full of fat drunks butt-hurt because no Mannings ever even considered LSU or their school, are better judges of QB talent than 247, Rivals,

247 writers have been on record saying his last name is why he's ranked so high.

Jeezzz Some people are small brained… and before anyone starts in about “2A competition”, remember he had a 2A team around him.

He has 6-7 division 1 players on his 2A team and has never won more than 1 playoff game in a season. His numbers have not improved over the last 3 years, and any time Newman plays a team with more talent, they get fricking destroyed.

Chrissy Simms had the same hype in 1999. We know how he turned out.

They’re expecting Burrow level numbers but without anything remotely close to the WR corps that Burrow had.

Plus I doubt the kid is that good to start with (who is?) but that offense isn’t built like 2019 LSU was.
