I think its the new norm. Look at Duke. Whitehead, Filipowski, and Mitchell, the 2-4 ranked recruits in 2022 and 1st round picks have all missed time in the preseason due to some "Injury". While I think Nick is injured, I also don't think its worth risking millions in lottery pick money to play Bradley and some other scrubs we've faced. If he doesn't get to play, thats ok. We've got another lottery pick and 2 first rounders starting for us to make up for it.

This NSJ situation in and of itself isn’t something I’m super upset about or necessarily think should be handled any differently. But this whole deal combined with Brazile’s torn ACL suuuuuuucks.

Absolutely.

And having lottery picks scattered through the NBA is awesome.

Watching Moody on Christmas Day was pretty damn cool. Getting minutes and scoring 10 on that team, even with Steph out is no joke.

I'd rather hid didn't. Just shut it down. I don't want him trying to play in a big game if he hasn't played all year. Basketball is a game of chemistry.

Chemistry is nice until you run into a bigger, more talented/athletic Duke/Baylor team in the tournament

Not sure a 70% speed NSJ helps in that department.

It is what it is.

Graham and Devo are going to have to step up. Maybe Pinion if he can figure out how to play or be hidden on defense.

End of the day, I hope he plays for us but in all reality, when he has played, he didn't look healthy or up to speed enough to be a huge game changer for us.

Im sure whatever donor paid his 7 figure NIL deal is thrilled about all this

In all seriousness though, this is the type of thing that will make wallets get much tighter next time around if this team doesnt pan out

signing and playing 3 games for us is still a net positive.

Our next Al Jefferson, except actually made it to campus.
A lot of ball left to play, but not going to count on NSJ going forward, and believe Muss isn't either.

Council: “Nick will be back when he’s ready. Could be tomorrow. Could be next week”

Paraphrased a little. Heard it on the radio

The mid January rumor seems most accurate.

Council has really distinguished himself this season. After he gets drafted in the first round, I anticipate us to sign even more elite transfers.

Would Muss legitimately leave us for Kentucky this offseason?

Also were we in on any Kentucky recruits this cycle that we could steal when he's fired?

If we don't pay him, yes. If we pay him, still probably yes.

I don’t think he really fits the UK mold but you never know.
