It's Arkansas
No, Joe Namath is not Italian, he's Hungarian, they of the Goulash. Goulash is not Italian, I'll just add in for those who've been in prison for 55 years or so, or in a coma for that long. It's Hungarian. I like it, but it's not Italian.
Harry Rex Vonner is like 1% Italian, and my BGFF piggilicious is even more than that.
There's an excellent demographic of Italians in Tontitown, Arkansas (Springdale) and Conway County. Others elsewhere I'm sure, and my Arkansas friends will make those known to you.
Tontitown is home to the annual Tontitown Grape Festival, an August event that precedes the excitement for Razorback football. The Italian food at this festival is world class. This August will be the 123rd Tontitown Grape Festival.
1BigTigerFan, you are cordially invited to the Tontitown Grape Festival, because those baws in T-town found out you had a hand in whacking Billy Bats. So come on up and we've got you a meeting with some boys who want to induct you into the secret club, supposedly

You should have no problem getting NIL money from the mob

Arkansas also has, per the SPLC, the largest group of active klansmen with 1,500 members. That should be around 1,000 government informants working at the federal, state, city, and county level. And 400 LARPers, journalist, folks looking to sell books, etc…. And 390 fake keyboard klansmen. The 10 actual white supremacy believers run the Clinton library.

I don't think you realize how many Italians are in Louisiana. There are also a ton in the MS Delta and in Bham. I've never really even heard of there being Italians in Arky.

Is it wrong that upon reading the title of this post, I also immediately thought of Big Dan?

Not sure what the breakdown is but I do know that College Station and Bryan are filled with a number Sicilian families, my family being one of them. We've been here going on 5 generations now.

New Orleans is full of Italian Americans. They got treated like crap there. Mississippi surprisingly has a lot too. I would put LA then MS for the south.

It's always interesting to me to learn about how cultures immigrating to the US can blend their cuisine with the local fare. I'd love to hear about how the Italians who migrated to Arkansas have incorporated the local delicacy of roadkill into their cuisine. Roadkill lasagna? Roadkill parmesan?

Tonitown was great in my early days calling on WalMarts HQ.

The Delta region has some wonderful Italian farm families. Also….HOT SPRINGS was the Chicago Italian mob’s Southern headquarters back in the day. Al Capone spent his winters there. There is even a gangster museum. …it’s one of the reasons MLB spring training began in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Babe Ruth’s longest home run happened there and the ball landed in the alligator farm.
