Monken got a bump from $1.4 to $2 million for this season. A multi year extension also in the works.

Underpaid. Hopefully getting a little extra NIL of his own on the side.

After another big year, y'all think he'll take a College HC job, go back to NFL or be happy working for CKS?...

I was assuming they’d have to be assuring Manning that Monken is gonna be around for a while in order to show him stability.

If we get back to the playoffs with our offense leading the way, double it.

Looks like Kirby is getting a little bump, too

shite, with the money he's making here, the autonomy he has to run the offense, and the embarrassment of riches he's going to have at the skill positions, it would probably take something awfully enticing to get him to leave. I'm not sure he wants to be a college HC.
I do think the right NFL offer could get him to make the jump. If Davis Mills shows more promise, the Texans could be an extremely intriguing job. They're a young team full of cap space and flush with Cleveland's draft picks. If Mills ends up being the guy Stanford thought they were getting from Greater Atlanta Christian, that team could get good really, really fast.

It certainly helps to show stability to prospective recruits.
As far as Manning and Texas is concerned, I think there is a good chance by the time Texas starts playing an SEC schedule Sark won't even be there. That is a program with too much interference by boosters, from all accounts, and I don't look for that to change. With some wealthy people the only thing bigger than their portfolio is their ego.

Keep hearing there’s a monster extension in the works. Multi year at near HC money.
Also not to be discounted- Mrs. Monken REALLY likes Athens and is enamored with the idea of making this their final stop.

UGA's greatest advantage is Athens, IMO.
Obviously I'm super biased, but there's no greater college town than Athens, GA. Once you're inside the loop it's like you've entered another dimension where every little pleasure life has to offer is amplified by 1,000x.
Coaches and players seem to agree. Imagine having to go to school/coach in Knoxville, Gainesville, or Columbia
Only college town in the conference (Nashville is not a college town) that can hang with our stuff is Ole Miss, and I mean... Come on. It's Mississippi.

+1. These coaches also have families that they're trying to raise. Who wants to raise a family in Kentucky when you could be in an amazing college town a couple of hours away from Atlanta?

So the Senator posted new info yesterday. Apparently Monken’s bump is part of a new 3 year agreement through 2024. Annual salary escalators are included.
Considering only 3 coordinators made at least $2 million last season and at least 2 of them are now HCs (I’m not sure about Mike Elko), Monken may very well be the highest paid assistant coach in CFB.
ETA: Elko is now HC at Duke, so CTM is probably the highest paid assistant in CFB. Worth every damn penny plus some IMO.
