Interesting: "3 and 6: If the SEC goes to a nine-game league scheduling format, this is the favored potential model. This involves each program having three teams that it plays every season. For example, it's thought that Georgia would play Auburn, Florida and South Carolina. It's not as restrictive and repetitive as pods and would still keep new programs rotating through SEC stadiums so it feels more like a league." LINK

Games played between each school/ Proximity

Alabama - Auburn *86, Mississippi State 106, Tennessee 104
Arkansas - Missouri 13, Texas 79, Oklahoma 15
Auburn - Alabama 86, Florida 84, Georgia 126
Florida - Auburn 84, Georgia 100, South Carolina 42
Georgia - Florida 100, Auburn 126, South Carolina 74
Kentucky - South Carolina 33, Tennessee 117, Vandy 94
LSU - Mississippi State 115, Ole Miss 115, Texas A&M 60
Mississippi State - Alabama 106, LSU 115, Ole Miss 118

That’s a 4-team pod setup

No it is not..

UGA - playing AU, UF, and USC every year. Doesn’t mean UF plays AU and USC every year.

All of this talk is premature. When the Texas AD figures out how he wants the schedule to look, he'll tell Sankey what to do and that will be that.

I absolutely hate the 3/rotate six model. I vastly prefer two eight-team divisions, but even pods are preferable to losing so many annual rivalries.

It would be a cluster with everyone scrambling to fit 6 additional games in. It would require the SEC office to control scheduling rather than the schools.

Call me chicken but I don’t want Bama as one of our permanent opponents lol. Give me something like Ole miss, Miss St, and A&M or maybe Arkansas or Florida. I don’t want to go 3-4 years without playing them but t would be nice to see how the Georgia’s and Florida’s of the world have been living during the Saban tenure

We played Saban every year when he was at LSU and fared OK.

Seems to me that the fans of OU, Texas, Arkansas, and A&M generally like the 3 & 6 proposal because they only have around 3 SEC opponents they really care about playing.

3 and 6 is the only way. Get rid of divisions and have the top 4 play in a playoff to determine the champion. The benefits are all there. You can't hide, as even if your 6 schedule is favorable and you get to the playoff, you gotta beat two of the top 4 to win it all. No more 6-6 teams as we get rid of a cupcake game and replace another one with a conference foe. Just enforce that the teams that don't naturally have a P5 OOC foe schedule one every year. The players will play in every SEC stadium in a 4 year period, and will play every SEC team at least twice in a 4 year period. This has to be the format

That's terrible for the conference when you are trying to place two or more teams in the playoffs. You have 16 teams and force three of the top four to end the season with a loss.

I like the idea more each day. It’s also great for home schedules. You’ll see every SEC team in your home stadium (minus neutral-site rivalries) every four years. As it stands, Georgia last hosted LSU in 2013 and won’t host them again until I believe 2024.

You are a below average poster but that’s some good stuff right there. If you would’ve quoted Deloss Dodds it would’ve been better
