All these college coaches are full of shite.
“We need parity” - Saban
“NIL had nothing to do with it” - Jimbo
“I will win a NY6 Bowl” - Brian Kelly

Who cares what he wants he’s retiring in a year or two

Oh, so now he wants parity. Lol

I think he just means that he would like to stay at the top but wants different teams to beat.

Just bc it's the only sport I can compare in our case...
We claim to want parity in WBB too.
It doesn't mean we actually mean it. It sounds good, tho.

He's beating the parity drum now knowing, if it ever does happen, it will take a few years to even come close to parity. By then he'll be on his way out and, if there is more parity, he will have secured his place as the GOAT both at Bama and all of CFB forever.
He's not dumb or humble.

One day they will look back to Nick Saban’s era with an asterisk

That's some elite humble-brag right there.

Trying to prepare Bama fans for life after he retires.

If they taught a class on the history of college football when Nick was in school, he didn't take it.
"One of the things I'd like to see us be able to work back to is everything in college football has always had parity," Saban said. "Same scholarships, same academic support, healthcare, whatever it is. I don't think we have that balance right now, which can affect the parity of college football and college athletics as a whole."

I actually do think Nick has the best interests of the sport at heart. I wish we could make him commissioner of college football and not just saying that to get him out of Tuscaloosa.

Cheats for almost 20 years at Bama
No parity at all
Wins more championships than anyone
Biggest hand in the apathy around the sport
On his way out, he all of a sudden wants the opposite of the monster he created
How convenient

He sees interest in the sport waning

This guy was possibly the biggest part of what killed parity in college football. Yes, it's going to get worse, but that's only because now every wealthy booster base can get away with what Alabama has been doing for decades.

Dodge Challengers, Mercedes and Money flowing caused the disparity. I wonder if Nick knows who is responsible for that?

I think what he really said is we need more parody in college football....

We all played Dynasty mode in NCAA Football and when you’re an unstoppable monster the game gets boring

The only way to create parity is to form a super league of the top 20 or so programs and basically make it a true minor league system in every way. So you'd have to have salaries, cap space, ect. That's the only way to create true parity in cfb. The other 40 or 50 good programs, the Arkansas's of the world can figure something out between themselves.
