For starters, every current SEC state has some form of tourism opportunity (mountains, beaches, culture and history).

WTF does Oklahoma bring to the table? The Trail of Tears?

Trying too hard.

It's an athletic conference, not the board of tourism.

It doesn’t matter. Nobody wants to travel to Oklahoma for an athletic event either. I’m surprised the WCWS has stayed there.

Back in my day every state had a historical football or basketball school. Now we talking about mountains and beaches. Oklahoma fits the original criteria before the SEC went woke.

Back in the my day I learned which states were in the Southeast as well. No mention tornado alley.

You act like Baton Rouge, College Station, Starkville, Gainsville, Tuscaloosa, Auburn, or Knoxville are tourist destinations.

They aren't...but those of us that went to University at these places love them...and love going back for sporting events.

People that went to school in Norman love it...for the same irrational reasons that we all love our college towns.

There are reasons to oppose the addition of OU...television markets, travel times, etc., but the notion that there isn't enough history or tourism in the state for them to be added to the SEC is nonsense.

Oklahoma actually has four mountain ranges: Ouachita, Arbuckle, Wichita, and the Ozarks.

i’ll tell what Oklahoma brings to the table. Fact is Oklahoma sucks, and without them Texas would fall off into the gulf.

Well there’s that but they will also bring a world of arse whippings to the SEC. Aggy can run but they can’t run fast enough. You don’t have time to worry about tourism when your getting tagged 77-0. So yes that Trail of Tears will exist.

poor aggies

Fans of traditional SEC schools enjoy trips to other SEC towns because of the history and nostalgia, so you may be onto something regarding Norman.

I don’t really know what kind of “tv market” OK brings, hell we may as well invite Kansas State next.

When I lived in DFW there was a lot of prime tail sporting OU gear... I might not mind checking it out.

Nice photos, multicampus. So Oklahoma has nice scenery and the OP doesn't know what the frick he (she?) is talking about?

Ignorance on the Rant? Imagine that.

Yes, that was a great game. Fran was our worst coach since I have been alive. But he’s been gone a long time.

Now Texas has their Fran in place. TBD if he’s still there when you make the jump to the SEC.

It really is a beautiful state with lots of different geographies. I particularly enjoy the area where the Ozarks begin to give way to the Great Plains.

I’m not really sure, but I hear the coast is all the rave right now.
