Posters for years now have jokes about Bruce teaching Gus/Harsin how to recruit.
James Franklin has spoken about this early in his career but it’s an innate ability. You have it or you don’t. I’m sure it can be learned to an extent but by the time a head coach has been in the business for a while they probably are what they are from that single standpoint.
Pearl could get Congress to agree. He’s just a special personality. He gets people and it’s genuine.

So next season we’ll most likely only have 5-star basketball players and gymnasts on campus:

AU football has never recruited 5*'s tho. We pumped a ton of cash into basketball and lucked into Bruce. Not sure the two are comparable.

I don’t care how much money you pump into a shite program like Auburn basketball was. We pumped money in when Barbee was here and his 3 stars he got would bolt or refuse to play for that dick wad.
Bruce is an elite recruiter. Requires you to play maximum speed effort defense and let’s you play freely in offense. What every major recruit wants so they can get ready for the NBA.

Chizik recruited really well. During his three years he got a good bit of 5 stars.

Yep - and success leads to more success. Bruce can now point to Kessler "this guy was a role player and a year later he's a first rounder". Gets guys wanting to play for you and buying into the program.
