The writing is, unfortunately, on the wall

Don’t put that evil on me, Ricky Bobby.

If this is true, I’m done following basketball for Missouri. I’ll pick another team to follow.

You mean you actually followed it this year?

There's a word for someone who gets off on pain.

I watched more games than I didn’t. But I got to the point that I was just watching them to validate my opinions on Coach Martin.

If that turns out to be true, when is the heat going to be directed at Choi. I assume he had to approve the hire of the new Athletic Director, which said AD has a huge conflict of interest in deciding the fate of CM, her friend, whose kid is walking on the BB team. I had 4 season tickets for 30 years and gave them up last year; had several chances this season for free lower level seats, with a parking pass on the south side of the arena, and never went. First time in 35+ years I haven't gone to at least one game and do not go out of my way to watch a game on TV.

Choi is a beta. Need to get an alpha at the helm of the university

This is ultimately Choi’s decision. He should be held responsible for it.

I'm convinced Mizzou won't make a final four in my life time. That sucks.

I did get to see the Blue win so I will roll with that.

It's really hard to follow MU these days. That sucks too.

Him recruiting that one night than making an offer doesn’t bode well.

College hoops/athletics and college in general is a business. It's just business and should be treated as a business decision. Very few people in their career can persevere through the dumpster fire we just witnessed and keep their job. If this is the case, we should all have serious questions about university leadership and whether they understand who they really answer to. For anyone who has ever led people, you are not there to be the friend...you have to be willing to have difficult conversations but more importantly make difficult decisions. EVERYONE has a story, excuse, reason for lapses in judgement, poor performance, etc. but it is up to leaders to identify when this becomes a trend. I would say this is a trend and failure to act decisively is a failure of leadership. Expectations are a powerful thing, set them too high and lose people, set them too low and enjoy mediocrity.

On RockM podcast:

"If we can get another year, two or three out of Cuonzo..."

Uh. frick no.

"Are they hearing back from their candidates that they aren't interested in coming to Missouri?"

What changes next year? If they're not a candidate interested in us this year, they're not a candidate interested in us next year.

Also, they just make stuff up.

"Wichita State has a much larger basketball budget than Missouri."
LINK

2020
Missouri: $8.25M
Wichita State: $8.18M

Any way we could drop down to D-II in basketball? It wouldn't be long before we'd be a .500 team.

Swap with Lindenwood for a year or two until Cuonzo is gone.

No need to prepare. I was hoping to prepare for a new coach and a fresh start, but it looks like my Mizzou basketball hibernation will continue. This groundhog has seen his shadow and will sink back down into his hole for another year.
