Congrat's Georgia!

This is always the best race of the meet, which is why it is the last race of the meet.

That last UGA dude is good at using his big body to force them more outside.

4 x 400 is a fun relay to watch in general. A hard run 400 is a bitch and takes some grit to push through.

Best event in all of T&F!

...and that's coming from a former distance runner & coach

I love that Boling is running that too!

That might have been the difference. It can get pretty physical on the track sometimes, but you have to be subtle about it or you can get DQ'd. I thought it was a clean race. UF guy should have stayed behind him and would have had a better chance to wait to pass coming off the curve imo.

All I know is that race is for people with way more pain tolerance than I.

Yeah Boling didn't run the 200 for some reason, which is his best event. He won it last season.

Womens 4x400 was way better. Arkansas blew the old NCAA record out of the water.

Arkansas swept both titles, but hopefully the mens don't screw the pooch in indoor nationals. We're ranked #1 with 6 national top 10 marks, and 5 in the top 5. Quantity wins conferences championships, but quality wins nationals.

Men's haven't won indoor since 2013 or outdoor since 2005 (ouch). Women are going for a 3-peat for indoor.

Thats painful considering mens won 24 out of the possible 30 championships in the 90s. The womens teams have been carrying us lately.

a 400 absolutely is tough, especially probably at that level when you are pushing 100% but I always thought the 800 was tougher. Pace lap at under 60 followed by an all out 400.

Definitely. 800m is probably the most painful race in all of track. So much of it is anaerobic.

Can't tell you how many arguments I've had with kids trying to convince me that a 3200 is worse than an 800.

Ran both but back then it was the "880" and "2 mile" 'cause everything was in yards before went to the metric system in track and field.

880 much tougher than the 2 mile. Only the last 200 meters or so of the 3200 is a sprint. Nearly the entire 800 is.

400 was always the toughest on me. It is too short to leave anything in the tank at any time in the race.

My daughter who currently runs says the 800 is worse. She is only 14. It is basically a question of opening up the last 150 or 100 for her right now (that is the pain threshold at her level at the moment.

She just did the 300m hurdles for the first time last week. She is new to the form, but that looked tougher than the 400 and 800 from my view in the stands (difficult to keep momentum up over that many hurdles). From my view, it looks like a more difficult version of the 400.

The 3000m steeplechase is even worse! And those barriers DO NOT MOVE when you hit them!

I believe our track coach is retiring. I trust Yurachek to hire a good one.

Thank you!!! I ran the steeplechase in college. It's basically cross country on the track. I was drawn to it because no one else wanted to run it!!! All you have to do is let that trail leg lag and clip the barrier. The next thing you know, you're eating track.
