Auburns backcourt was our biggest weakness to start the season and it still is today

Gonna need some elite guards next year if we want to have a shot to go far in the tournament.
I think we can go far still this year with our two big men and elite defense but man, Green and KD can be super frustrating sometimes.

They didn’t play well today, but they also won us a few games when Jabari was cold earlier in the year. Wendell is just in a slump. A bad one, mind you, but a slump. He’ll break out of it. I agree you want to get it to KD or Jabari at the end though.

People are overreacting. It’s hard to win on a good team’s home court. Teams like Gonzaga have the luxury of beating up the Little Sisters of the Poor week to week.

They’re a very solid tournament team. This is life on the road in basketball guys.

Teams with big guards will give us issues. They have all season. Most teams don’t have anyone that can matchup with Kessler as well.

Only thing at this point is the rotation with Flanigan and Cambridge. Flanigan can still start but Cambridge has seemed to find his role much clearer then Flanigan. So more minutes for Cambridge and less for Flanigan. Other then that I’m not panicking at this point.

Seriously? They’re a borderline tournament NCAA tournament team and this win was critical for their resume.

We were favored by 5. Not a huge upset just we are getting close and any top 10 loss gets attention.

If we would have won it would have been a Quad 1 win for us. Still think we are top 5 and with our record still a 1 seed.

Slow down. Wendell was playing like one of the best point guards in the country until the past couple weeks. He will find his confidence again.

I disagree that our problem is the back court, I think our problem is when our front court doesn’t play like a front court. Kessler and Jabari are great, but at times they forget they are forwards and play like guards, and then we have 5 guards in there.

That works fine if someone is shooting well and we have a lead. But we get behind and no one is hot and then we have 5 guards and no front court game at all.

But yes, we have 3 6’0 guards. Obviously we will have some match up issues.

Also, this loss doesn’t surprise me very much. I worried about this game all week. Every team we play on the road plays like it’s their last game, and Florida was even more desperate.

This team is amazing. Let’s not overreact. Our guards aren’t elite but they are plenty good. Hard to beat solid teams on the road. Especially hard to beat solid teams on the road when they are desperate. Credit to Applebee. Sky remains the limit for this group

It seems like we aren’t running actual sets. If teams get us in a half court game we are not good. How in the hell can we not run sets to get Jabari open shots? All we do is pick and rolls? I don’t understand. Bruce has always been great at getting players looks. I really think our guards are the weak point. We are deep across the board except the guards.

Yes. Imagine the depth of Cooper, Green, and Jasper.

So our two best players are our problem?

We run stuff on most everything but a fast break. Most everything is either a high pick and roll or flex cut, and if there’s nothing there then the guards improvise.

So you are telling me you stopped watching basketball when Jordan stopped playing. The game has changed. Cartwright and Patrick Ewing… hell a Dwight Howard type center probably wouldn’t get drafted unless it was just to add a big defender
